Raiders sign Trent Richardson... probably a low-risk deal. Not bad

Very low risk.
He seems to have the drive from what he's expressing but he must produce on the field.
I hope for the best.

Raiders release Antonio Smith, save 4m. Puzzling considering how thin we are on the DL and how effective Smith was at rushing the passer. Maybe another move in the works? Maybe we know that a certain huge lineman will fall to us at 4?

Raiders sign OT J'Marcus Webb. Rotoworld immediately decrees he won't make the 53 man roster :blank:

Was a project player in 2010, which is decent news.. love when you sign these types in the middle of their careers. Never know when one will flip the switch. He's 6'8", 330, and a nice athlete.

Raiders bringing Michael Crabtree for a workout next week. Is he even an upgrade on what we have, worth the trouble?

yea…as a guy who isn't going to be the #1 or #2 option (assuming we get a WR in the draft).

why the hell not?
I wanted us to look Greg Jennings first….but yea….why the hell not?

nope. forget this guy.

he is not even the same player after the injury, but even if he was, I don't want a player who publicly bashed us so Al wouldn't draft him now only because he's got little choices around him. **** that pos.

and I am not even caring about his antics. this is strictly about your pride.
ehhhhh f it.

I really wouldn't take Crabtree for free. Considering how much we talk about high characters in the locker room, this seems a bit strange. Hopefully its due diligence, and hopefully he remains a non-Raider.

Denarius Moore signs with the Bengals

Crabtree is officially in the building now.. a 1 yr, 4m deal with incentive kickers is pretty likely so long as Crabtree doesn't act like a petulant ass during the visit. He won't like how we're becoming run heavy, but its his only shot at being a top 2 WR on a team that doesn't have a retread QB. Or Alex Smith again.

i didn't know what you meant about Crabtree and now I see he's somewhat of a diva receiver.

thought that might have been put to rest with reality hitting him that he's not that guy/ Sherman embarrassing him.

4 million is fine and comparable to what other receivers of his stature have received this offseason.
Now be quiet. Bring your lunch pail, help us win football games and help my QB improve.

Crabtree just sent out a cryptic tweet, reading only "Bay Area..."

He's been here since the morning. So that's odd. Sounds like he's signing.

I'll hedge my bets until I see some production out of him during the regular season...

Hopefully it isn't one of those subtraction by addition cases...:\

We need less drama, not more, imo.

Raiders have signed Packers' RFA SS Sean Richardson to an offer sheet, per RapSheet

Richardson played 121 snaps after a neck injury took most of his season. Graded out at +0.2, with +2.5 in run defense and -1.7 in pass coverage. Also had a -0.6 in pass rushing.

Negative pass grade is a bit deceiving - he moved over to FS to cover for injuries, and allowed a TD catch to TE Josh Hill.

Richardson signed at 1 yr, 2.5m. Pack have a ton of cap left and might match, but he's a backup for them, whereas Richardson might be viewed as a Woodson replacement for us.

Also Asante is back on a non guaranteed 1.5m deal. I imagine Ross/Asante/Dowling/Richardson are going to be duking it out for 2 reserve safety spots.

Um, so apparently Wes Welker is a Free Agent?

Someone please enlighten me as to why we have not tried to sign him?

I am *totally* at a loss. Or I presume he just does not want to play here, or we just can't afford him or?

Cheers! :P! :)! :D!

Long concussion history. Was brutally ineffective with Peyton Manning throwing him the ball.. I think that's all that really needs to be said. It'd be like signing a more injured, slower, and smaller James Jones. I'd be surprised if Welker got over a minimum deal anywhere. And in the end, I think he hangs them up. Too much risk for his future, and he'd be a #3 at best no matter where he signs.
