WEEK 2 - Ravens @ RAIDERS - Sept 20

Post#1 » by benchmobbin02 » Sun Sep 20, 2015 7:15 pm

Keys to the Game

In the trenches - The Raiders need to apply pressure with the front 4 to be effective in the current scheme. Enter Aldon Smith. All is well? Not last week. We blitzed only 2 in the game and the Red Rocket abused us like a step-child. This week Mack Tuck and Smith face a stout oline in Bal but they are missing their left tackle Monroe and we are minus Jelly and Mayowa . Monroe's replacement has been terrible so let's see some production.

Steve Smith retirement tour vs Carrie and Hayden - Mr. Smith, as he has earned being called, will call it a career after the year and he is looking to go out with a bang. Flacco will target him early and often and Smith is known as a great route runner and an outside WR with the quickness and savvy of an all-pro slot WR. Carrie should shadow him but I don't think the Raiders will flip him and Hayden so it will be a matchup to watch.

Run the damn ball - The huge Raiders Oline will battle the huge Bal front 4, especially Williams Canty and Jerrigans. We need to get push and have olinemen get to the second level to the LBs and Safeties for Murray to have success. Just 11 carries like last week isn't gonna cut it.

Carr staying in his lane - After a shaky start last week and a hand injury, Derek Carr needs to come out a establish some success in the air as well to keep the Ravens from loading the box vs Murray. Using Reece Cooper Crabtree and and the TE's in the intermediate game will help a lot to keep us out of long 3rd downs and keep his jersey clean.

Injury report -
Oak -
DT Ellis - Ankle - Out
DE Mayowa - Knee - Out
FB Olawale - Ankle - Out
FS CWood - Shoulder - Questionable
QB Carr - Hand - Probable

Bal -
LT Monroe - Concussion - Out
WR Perriman - Knee - Out
DL Canty - - probable
RB Forsett - Shoulder - probable
DT Jernigan - Knee - probable
CB Melvin - Thigh - questionable
LB Smith - - probable
RB Taliaferro - Knee - probable
WR Waller - Ankle - questionable

At game but just heard Streater a healthy scratch - per FNQ

Well, that Butler trade is either gonna be a great thing or a very bad thing if we only have Have Coop and Crab, Roberts and Holmes. I guess we'll use Reece and the 3 TE's more. Maybe even have Helu and Jones active with Olawale out.

Carr threw two high passes over the middle. I don't know if they were miss throws or just putting it where the defender had no chance at it.

Two nice plays by Hayden in coverage so far. Last in the endzone vs Steve Smith. Carrie got away with a push but no flag. Forced FG.

Refs missed the Knee to the head by Smith to Crab. Caught Crab for the flag for taunting. BS!

Carrie got lucky! Aiken burned him and Flacco threw it well behind the receiver.

Lofton completely let the TE go on a seem route. Nothing CWood could do by the time Flacco threw the ball.

Hayden shaken on the TD to Williams.

Murray needs to keep getting the ball. Keeps the defense honest. Webb hurt on the Crab tackle. Let's go after the replacement

2nd 12 man on def flag! Lofton couldn't make a play in the back field on 4th down and CWood doesn't commit to the tackle on 1st down. Might be the shoulder. We're give up every pass this drive.
