I know I have been **** on Jon Gruden the GM already all over around here and still very disappointed that Jon's public denial and Mack's swift rebuttal will only get ugly for Jon and he was still immature to engage in this, but still so damn pumped for my Raiders' season opener, I could not allow the forum to start this season without a gamethread. even if these two posts are it for the game #1. I still believe in Chucky the HC.

I just wonder how big of a slaughter this will be, still holding out a sliver of hope that we somehow win this one.

boy oh boy now our D has to come on.

hopefully we don't really have to score on every position like Amari said after Mack's trade to win this game... crossing my fingers that our D doesn't fall apart at least until a half way through second quarter and we are at least up by 2 TDs by then.

Great coverage by Melvin to end that 3d and 2 drive.

Let's go Jon, do your magic and win me over now that we **** up Mack and 3rd rounder for Martavis

end of the first...

so far, 7-7 with advantage of field position with the ball to start the second, Chucky the HC gets A+.

lets see our 2 minute offense. Jon was especially exceptional with this in his first stint with us.

you can't never evaluate two different situations in a vacuum and have a legit and fair comparison in anything, but had we signed Mack, and just 75% of his effort he showed for the Bears yesterday was played out in this game, we are 2 TD up by now.

If Quake ever bothers to read through this thread later, I would love to hear his rebuttal. but, I think Jon Gruden made a mistake thinking he needed a complete tear down and rebuild from ground up, which I am sure in his mind, justified not paying for a "once in a life time DE" in his prime since his projected arrival of the Raiders back in contention would happen when Mack is in 30s, but I will tell you all this.

had Jon signed Mack on this roster, I think we would be in contention from day 1.

Guess this might become this forum's easteregg, but yo Quake, if you think the scheme was so crucial over talent to blame KNJ for most of our problems on D last season, then you can also assume that the right scheme for this team could over perform its roster, right? then how possible is it that with revamped roster and brand new management in all accounts, that this team was already near/contention talent, with the "right scheme" philosophy? if Carr can consistently perform up to Rich Gannon/Brad Johnson level or higher production, having Mack would have been amazing in pursuit of the 4th Vince's Trophy, and even if we fall way short, it would have been a great send off gift for the city of Oakland.

instead, we start our stripping off of salaries even before the actual rebuilding ( as we are the oldest team in NFL, you cannot in clear mind, call this roster as the beginning of an actual rebuilding) while the city of Oakland watches in agony once again of the same damn franchise that is leaving the city for the second time......
