Grady Jackson cut; should we pursue him?

10 years ago Grady started his career with Oakland so would you like to see him return?

Just saw that... admittedly I haven't seen much of Atlanta lately, but Jackson was a beast, that I remember.

A homecoming... with our problems stopping the run and Warren's injury, would seem good. He'd probably have to clear waivers, I imagine he's got a good-size contract. In all probability it's not likely but it's not everyday you can pick up a veteran, quality defensive lineman with only his salary to worry about.

Posted this in the Gen Board, but it would make our line a lot better very quickly. Him, Warren, and Sapp on the same line would eat a ton of space, allowing Burgess to run free (a la Simeon Rice in his prime).

Now how can Grady Jackson be good enough to make a good team like the Jags, but the Raiders, with their horrid run D, can't use him?

I think that Grady chose a team to join... why leave the Falcons to come to Oakland? :p

If that team had Stroud, I'd be scared of them in the playoffs... The East has become so loaded, its almost like the Majors/Minors... Pats/Colts/Bolts/Jags are better than every NFC team IMO... Steelers/Titans/Browns/Bengals would almost certainly be playoff teams down there...

Giants, Bucs have clinched the playoffs... what a joke.

Grady was kicked off the Falcons, but since the Raiders have the worse record, they could have claimed Grady off waivers...

I think we'd have to pick up the entirety of his contract, including bonuses, if we did that... and he was making a ridiculous amount. Waivers are rarely used except on draft picks and things like that...

Either way, Grady has 1, maybe 2 seasons left in the tank... we're about that far from making any real progress..
