So, the season is nearing, but our traffic on this forum is still very low. Will just have one game thread for the entire season unless A. The Traffic increases on the forum and B. If you want to make a game thread, do so, and I will just merge it afterwards with the season game thread (this one).

I hope everyone enjoys the season and Go Raiders!

Over/Under 6 Wins?
:dontknow:

6? Man thats tough... we're pretty unpredictable this season. First year w/ Jamarcus officially at the helm. Javon Walker, Ronald Curry, and Drew Carter are our top 3 wides... McFadden and Fargas in the backfield. We added a damn good safety to replace a weak link in Schewigert... the key will be our D-line. How well will Warren/Kelly/Burgess/Richardson play together? Will they get enough pressure on the QB to allow Nmondi and Hall to get picks?

I'll go optimistic and say we'll have 8-9 wins with an outside longshot at the playoffs... I think McFadden can be damn impressive as a rookie, but I'm not so sure about our D-line.

6 wins can be accomplished but it's going to be a very difficult task. I also don't like that our bye week is week 5 but it's just one of those things we can't control.

I say 6 wins easy.

I also think we can even go for a split(8-8), our schedule isn't hard at all.

With this schedule, the Raiders going 8-8 isn't a stretch at all. We can definitely split the AFC West and the NFC South, and go 3-1 against the AFC East. That just leaves two games: Baltimore and Houston.

Good win over San Francisco last night. Russell was limited to only 5 attempts and the run game was pretty deadly.

Denver Broncos @ Oakland Raiders (Week 1)

Should be an exciting contest, just like it always is with these two teams.

I definitely could see this going either way, but I believe we'll pull it out. We have the superior defense and arguably the best ground game in the business. As long as JaMarcus doesn't throw the ball into Denver's hands, we should be okay.

Prediction:

Denver - 13
Oakland - 17

Denver is favored to win by 3 points on our home field. It's time to win!!

People who wouldn't want to trade Michael Bush for Anquan Boldin... dude had 8 catches for 82 yards today and fought hard for extra YAC. He could help a lot if not for the salary cap ramifications ("about writing that check, Javon... ").

Excited to see J-Russ hand it off to McFadden. Broncos are always tough, but I think the Raiduhs will be able to pull this one off on the strength of their running game and pass defense.

Crucial game for Ryan

It is going to be an important night for a certain Raiders coach, and it’s not necessarily the one who has less than flattering things to say about the depth on his roster and has openly questioned the performance of some of his his players.

Not long after Lane Kiffin met with Al Davis with a postseason plan that included a new defensive coordinator _ Rob Ryan had already agreed to resign and likely would have been quickly snapped up by the New York Jets _ the Raiders countered with a statement through the public relations department asking for an end to the speculation because there would be no change.

Ryan would stay and complete the final year of his contract.

In terms of how they operate, Kiffin and Ryan couldn’t be more different. Kiffin is candid and critical, unwilling to lapse into Raider cliches’ and frustrated at his inability to affect change at the rate he would like.

I had to turn off the game at halftime. I couldn't take anymore.

What in the **** world was Rob Ryan doing? How come, every friggin time we had Denver in a third and long, we'd send 3 or 4 guys against a line of 6 people, generating ZERO pressure on Cutler? He had all **** day to throw. It was ridiculous. Bad coaching was evident early on.

And Curry dropping that pass? Ugh.

Fortunately, its only one game. If you're gonna get beat down, make it the opening game. We have plenty of time to rebound, but if we dont take care of KC, then I'll start to worry.

Bright spot? Definitely JaMarcus Russell. I thought he was fabulous. Minus the fumble, he was terrific.

Like week 1, feel free to make a game thread for week 2, and it can be merged to this thread after the game.

KC on the Road is going to be interesting. KC favored to win by 4 points - O/U is 35.
