Porter signed a six-year, $30 million contract that included $10 million guaranteed. He also earned $1 million in salary last season, but caught just 11 passes for 181 yards and a touchdown.
He started the season on the physically unable to perform list following hamstring surgery and ended the year on injured reserve (groin). Teammates singled him out as a main culprit for the chemistry problems—a label Porter first earned in Oakland.

PORTER COMING BACK UNLESS RAIDERS GET OUTBIDReceiver Jerry Porter, a long-disgruntled member of the Raiders who jumped at the chance to pocket a big-money deal with the Jaguars, could be heading back to Oakland.
Seriously.
The folks at RaiderBeat.com have been banging this drum of late, and given that the folks at RaiderBeat.com have been nailing several Raiders-related stories of late, they’ve gotten our attention on this one.
The latest scuttlebutt is that Porter will explore the market for a few days once free agency opens. If he doesn’t get blown away by an offer from another team, he’ll likely rejoin the Raiders.

There are plenty of WR's being released that we need to pursue instead of bringing Jerry Porter back. It's frustrating being a Raiders fan!

Porter was only really good as a #3 behind two excellent route runners... he's not a #1, and probably not a #2... and that was in his prime. What good is this move, really?
The man we should have signed was Bernard Berrian last year... then we could ideally pair him w/Schilens and JLH as our #2/3... wouldn't be a great corps but enough to keep secondaries honest..
