The Raiders have received offers for the eighth overall pick.

An unknown team has offered Oakland a second-round pick this year and first-round pick in 2011 for the eighth pick next month, according to San Francisco Chronicle.

The deal would allow the Raiders to get back in the 2011 first round after they dealt their pick to the Patriots in the Richard Seymour deal.

Very interesting and I wonder what team is offering. I must think about this and try to find more details (team?) before I come to a decision if I would do it or not.

I'd definitely have to consider this. There are a lot of OT prospects avail in the 1st (Campbell, Okung, Bulaga, A. Davis... 2 of which should be there at 8, at least. Okung is likely to be gone, Bulaga probably will too, leaving Campbell and Davis.

The question is, would you be willing to pass on Bulaga/Campbell/Davis and try and hit in the 2nd round? My response would be yes, that I'd look for a different OT in the 2nd, pull the trigger on the trade for McNabb (#39/AwesomeWah for McNabb/Samuel), and take the pick in the 1st next year.

I've always believed that mid-late 1sts are the highest value draft picks in this current system, so even if the first is in the 20+s, its worth the risk, because if its in the teens, its extremely valuable.

Do it!

I'd do that trade, mainly because I'm tired of seeing us draft crap players with our higher end first round picks.

I know one of the offers: a pick in the 40s this year and a 1st next year, plus a player that can start and upgrade the DL right away. I have no idea how seriously Al Davis is considering it though.

That'd be the smart thing to do, take that deal. Especially since in addition to the picks we upgrade our terrible D-line.

So its a virtual lock that we don't do it, draft Taylor Mays and regret it all :censored: season

The number 8 pick goes by the chart, and a second rounder and an indeterminate future first is a horrible trade.

Jags traded for Kirk Morrison for a fourth-round pick.

Thoughts?

Well, Morrison became expendable when we drafted McClain.

And for the record; I love the McClain pick. Dude is a **** stud. I could see him being a Patrick Willis type player.

Our draft has actually gone pretty well. We also got a damn good DT in the second round.

We got Jason Campbell as well. The Raiders didn't fck up this weekend. They actually did pretty damn good! I get more and more excited about Rolando with everything I read about him.

Great draft, finally.

The Ford & McFadden picks have the chance to really pay off big. McFadden would have gone much higher if healthy. Ford should push JLH for the RS/#4 WR spot--better hands and more comfortable in the slot.

A little rain: the last two picks are absolutely worthless. Ware wasn't even a UDFA candidate for most teams. At least Al took him in the 7th compensatory range and not the 5th as feared. I knew they were taking him on MSU's pro day--they were the only team that talked to him and they talked to him a lot.
