Not a huge Eagles fan, but come on, this guy is absolutely terrific, yet he always gets ripped.

I'm sure most of you love the guy, but for the few who would rather Garcia, Shame on you.

Why do people rip McNabb?

I watched the Eagles and i absolutely loved watching this guy play. I haven't watched a ton of football yet, but from the games i've watched i can say that McNabb was one of the players i enjoyed watching the most.

McNabb's annoys me at times with some of his comments (usually the poor me I'm the first quarterback to ever be booed variety), but he's definitely under appreciated as a player. But that comes with the territory of the position.

Unfortunatley it has to do with the fact that some eagles fans are idiots. It is not the majority, it is just the loud minority. I honestley believe that part of it racially motivated, and the other is that Philly loves the underdog. Then there is the popular logic with these people, that because garcia is vocal and "fiery" that the guy is a better leader than McNabb. Bottom line is that the guy is a top 5 qb in the league, I personally put him at #3.

It has nothing to do with race. This town loved Randal.

You are naive is you think race has nothing to do with it. I am not suggesting it is the driving force, but it does play a role. Randal is loved here a lot more now then he was when he actually played here. I suspect the same will happen with Donovan.

Westbrook is more underappreciated, when McNabb got injured and Reid gave him more oppurtunities, Brian proved himself

I gotta disagree with you there. I have never heard anyone say anything negative about him except for the standard B.S. that he is too small.

I don't think race has anything to do with it. When you lose three NFC Championships in a row followed by losing a Superbowl, someone is going to take some heat. I think he and Reid deserve a lot of blame after the clock management during that last drive in the Superbowl.

Most people would rate McNabb somewhere in the top four QBs along with Peyton, Brady, and Palmer. I think that is fair.

If Donovan was usually a healthy guy, I think he'd easily be in that top four you mentioned...Phillies, but because of those injuries I bet a lot of people would rank him lower.

Race will always affect some peoples opinions. Always.

Overall, it is not near the driving force. Hence, when I say "nothing to do with it", it has little to no overall bearing on his popularity.

I agree completely. I feel that McNabb has always been underappreciated in his whole career. You know how these Philly fans can be like sometimes. I know McNabb has lost 3 straight NFC title games and 1 Super Bowl but I'd pick McNabb over any other NFL QBs beside Manning and Brady. The Eagles just need a big time player at the WR position then McNabb will be much more effective.
