Now that Batch is out of action the steelers are looking to add experience so they invite Leftwich to camp. I like the move.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - After losing backup quarterback Charlie Batch to a fractured right collarbone in Friday’s preseason opener, the Steelers are seeking a replacement.

Byron Leftwich, a former starter for the Jaguars and Falcons, is scheduled to arrive in Pittsburgh for a workout Saturday and possibly sign with the Steelers, according to a report on Pittsburgh Post-Gazette web site.

I'm not a Leftwich fan by a longshot. He lacks consistancy in his throws and he tends to stay in the pocket too long after plays breakdown due to not finding any open receivers. As a result, he gets sack for losses of ydges. I guess as long as he's a backup, I can deal.

A backup is all he would ever be with us and he would be decent enough in that roll, at least I think he would be.

Byron is at least decent and could be asked to play if injury was to occur. Sometimes you have to remember what a QB is surrounded by. Our system fits some of the skill set that Byron has.

When you put it that way, you make a good point.
