Before I move along, I want to give credit to our local poster, el loco, who came up with the idea to install the rookie watch for the Rookies of Steel

No credit necessary. It is just things people do on the basketball forums. Sweed has dropped some passes, and Mendenhall developed a pretty good fumbling problem in the preseason. I hope he gets that under control because he ran well. Dixon Probably won't see the light of day, but he is a pure athlete who could possibly convert to a slash version 2 type of player (who knows).

Week 7

Let me knock some of da dust off this thread real quick.................

Now that's better. rookie WR Limus Sweed made his debut today for the Steelers due to injuries. Today against the hapless Bungals, Sweed caught 1 reception for 11yrds and no TD. Not much for Sweed, but it's good to see him get his chance on the gridiron.

I didn't realize that in the brief time Mendenhall was playing that he had such a nice return average for us on special teams. I wonder how much that will be missed over the course of the season. Wait a second 4 divded by 67 doesn't equal 33.1 yards. Unless two were fair catches and don't figure into the equation.

If he didn't get injured, he would be in the hunt for ROY IMO because fast Willie hasn't played much this season and Mendenhall would have been getting a lot of rushing attempts for us.

Thankfully we picked up Mewelde Moore in the offseason as insurance. He has been a welcomed addition to the team.

If Mendenhall did catch a couple of fairs, then the numbers wouldn't count into the averages I did up. Call it human error I guess. And Mewelde Moore has been a great blessing for the Steelers these recent weeks.
