There won’t be a division title or playoff implications on the line for either team when the Steelers and Browns meet on Sunday at Heinz Field. But that doesn’t matter. There will be something just as valuable at stake – pride.

“You play to win every time you suit up,” said cornerback Deshea Townsend. “That is why we are here. That is why you train in the offseason. That is what we are prepared to do.”

Head coach Mike Tomlin was asked after the loss to the Titans if he would rest many of the starters, giving them an extra break heading into the post-season.

Tomlin was emphatic with his answer.

“We’ve got the Cleveland Browns,” said Tomlin. “Divisional opponent.”

Many of the players agreed. With a bye the following week, they don’t want to sit idle too long and after all, it is Cleveland.

No lies there. Just execute in the game. Keep mistakes down to few and end the regular season with a win.

BTW, do you or el loco have myspace by chance?

The hit on Ben was a little dirty, Mcginest (sp) jumped off the ground 1 last time when Ben was already headed to the ground so he could bring extra weight & that's what caused the concussion

I didn't get to see what happened to Big Ben. I'll catch it later on on NBC in a few minutes. I can say this, they played the Browns as though they had more reg season games left on the schedule. 31-0 was the score.

The Steelers were able to accomplish what they set out to do on Sunday, defeating the Cleveland Browns 31-0 at Heinz Field to head into the playoffs on a winning note. The win gives the Steelers a sweep of the AFC North as they finished with a 12-4 record, 6-0 in the division.

But it came with a price tag as quarterback Ben Roethlisberger left the game late in the first half with a concussion, taken off the field on a cart after being immobilized. A silenced Heinz Field crowd was encouraged when Roethlisberger signaled to them with thumbs up, just as the cart was leaving the field.

“At this point, all tests are negative, which is positive,” said head coach Mike Tomlin. “We are optimistic of where is going to be capable of playing. The bye is going to be helpful in regards to that. That is all of the information that I have on his status at this point. Again, it is encouraging.”

^^^ We will need to protect the QB better if we want to advance. All of the teams we will be facing from here on out can rush the QB. I was pleased to see fast Willie have a nice game. I hope this continues because it will take a lot of the pressure off of Big Ben.

I don't have Myspace, why were you asking?

I was asking b/c of the purpose of recruiting some fans to this site to get the traffic flow going here. The three of us are the most consistant posters here. We know there are lots of Steeler fans that at least read here, but won't post b/c of the lack of traffic flow.

I have tried to get some of the people that I know who follow sports fairly well to sign up, but I haven't had much luck. Heck, look at the baseball forum, I am about the only person who ever posts anything on the Reds board. Whoever said if you build it they will come, was full of crap

The problem comes down to competition. When you think about. RGM was behind the curb when they installed the NFL and MLB boards on last year. If they came up with the ideas say 3 to 5 yrs ago. Perhaps the majority of the boards would be traffic heavy or at least show some signs of consistant life on these boards. When ppl see boards with less traffic, it scares them off like a dog cowering in fear after being confronted by a oversized tiger. It's really unfortunate that it happens, but it does. You can only do the best you can to help a board get some notice.

TO ANY STEELERS FANS WHO JUST READ THIS BOARD AND DON'T POST HERE. GET SOME CONFIDENCE AND POST HERE AS MUCH AS YOU READ. WE'RE ALL STEELERS FANS HERE. WE BLEED THE BLACK AND GOLD AS MUCH AS YOU DO.
