Q&A: Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward

Pittsburgh wide receiver Hines Ward was elated to be selected by the fans to the Steelers' all-time 75th anniversary team.
The former University of Georgia and Forest Park standout was in some pretty good company, sitting next to Hall of Famers John Stallworth and Lynn Swann, as the only receivers on the 33-person team.
Q. How does it feel at this point in your career to be mentioned with Lynn Swann and John Stallworth and to be closing in on those club records?
A. When you mention the Pittsburgh Steelers, the two names that come to mind at the wide receiver position are Stallworth and Swann. Those two guys are great Hall of Famers and have done a wonderful job for the organization. Having my name mentioned with two of the best wide receivers to ever wear the black and gold is truly a big honor.
To be closing in on the milestones of being the all-time Steeler in catches, yardage and touchdowns ... I'll tell you, when I was coming into the league nothing was ever given to me. I was always the third-round guy. I had to fight to earn my spot and to stay in the league. I continued to work hard. Even up until this day.
