Steelers Draft Needs

Post#1 » by SD2042 » Sun Jan 20, 2008 11:36 pm

First off, this Steelers draft needs list is credited to our local RGM NFL expert, Icness. He provide me with more cover on what positions the Steelers need the most. Thx Icness!

Their biggest priorties are OL and depth at LB and DL. You saw what happened when Aaron Smith went down, and they will address that problem.

They should be in decent cap shape, so they can go and get a couple of 2nd tier FAs. If Faneca departs as expected then they can shoot for Karlos Dansby. But I expect him to get franchised. Cory Redding is another possiblity.

Expect them to take two OL in the upper rounds of the draft and also mix in a DE, CB, and developmental QB. Jeff Otah of Pitt is pretty raw but has amazing potential at T in the 1st round. A guy like Kirk Barton or Andrew Crummey in the 3rd/4th rounds would be a good value.

Draft needs:

OL, LB, DL, CB, WR, backup QB,

So if there are any Steelerfans linger around RGM. Stop though here and add your opinions on who you feel best suit playing for Steelers. I will add those names to the list according to their positions.

Pittsburgh Steelers - OL, CB, WR

The line has helped open up holes so that the team is third in rushing yards and has given running back Willie Parker the opportunity to impress. If adequate acquisitions aren

Bly has done solid for himself in the last few years in the league. He would be a good CB for the Steelers to have except that Denver has gone beyond to keep him by restructing his contract to not only have cap space for the team, but to keep Bly on the team as well.
