Strong safety TROY POLAMALU of the Pittsburgh Steelers is the GMC SIERRA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK for games played on September 14 - 15, the NFL announced today.

Polamalu recorded his second interception of the season, defended two passes and made one tackle for a loss to help the Steelers defeat the Cleveland Browns 10-6. Polamalu’s interception prevented a Cleveland touchdown on the final play of the first half to keep the game scoreless

Polamalu is the second Steelers player to win GMC defensive player of the week after LB LaMarr Woodley won the previous week.
