Mendenhall Out for Season

Rashard Mendenhall, who started for the injured Willie Parker, had his night cut short when he left the field in the third quarter with a fractured shoulder and is out for the season. Mendenhall finished the night with just nine carries for 30 yards and one reception for six yards. Carey Davis took over for Mendenhall, but he too went to the locker room late in the game with an ankle injury.

Really sux to see a rookie's season end just four games in. Mendenhall still has a lot going for himself. Unfortunately he will have to wait to prove himself again come 2009.

I was wanting to see what he could do as the season progressed. The injury was very unfortunate. I guess next year we get two first rounders if you look at it from a positive.

The here and now is we need an offensive lineman, we lost one for the year in this same game, but we need an every down back until Willie can get healthy.

Has any team picked up Rudy Johnson?

SD, I get your pm's but responding to them is not an available option for me anymore for some reason. I got the last two and can't respond. But, I am willing to help out with your task.

I heard about losing Kendall Simmons for the season early Tuesday morning. The Steelers really have some holes they need to patch up. With their next game against the Jags this weekend, I'm concern about their chances to win due to the impact the injuries have affected the team. hopefully they are able to manage and make a decent game and to their best against the Jags.

On Rudi Johnson, the Lions picked him up already. I wonder if someone like Skip Hicks or a Chris Brown, or an Ahmad Green are available for the Steelers to consider at RB.

And thx loco for your for response in helping me with the project. more likely it will be closer to the weekend when I get to you with the task.

BTW,what does your sig "Free Hoodie" represent?

Free Hoodie, was a poster on the Knicks board who got banned/suspended on the day that Balkman got traded to the Nuggets. He did a lot of work on the basketball boards. I bet if you go back and look on your board you will find some clips posted on your teams forum that he created and shared. Well, it turns out he liked Balkman a lot and he and a bulls mod, why he was on the knicks board is a mystery, but anyways they got into it, Hoodie got banned, and everyone felt as though the penalty was a bit harsh, and the sig was created.

Where is Nigel Davenport?

There is an idea though, maybe you can find someone to create a sig of the Steelers with a link to this forum.

Can't say where he is at this point since i haven't heard of his name mention in the last three seasons i think. As for Free Hoodie, i remember his name now. He would drop by the Grizz board and leave us some highlights of certain players or plays like the rudy Gay dunk on Luis Scola for example.

As for the Steelers sig deal, I'm attempting to us myspace to draw some Steelers fans and talk them into coming here if I have some success on my side.

It really sucks because he seemed to be heating up and starting to understand how to attack the defense but Mr. Lewis put an end to that

Actually, we both got the first name wrong according to this little article that I took from Steelers.com. 44 NAJEH DAVENPORT

PRO (67-3/7-1): Re-signed by the Steelers on October 1, 2008…released by the Steelers on June 28, 2008…signed with Pittsburgh on Sept. 8, 2006...played a major role throughout the 2007 season as a backup to Willie Parker...started the final two games of 2007 and the AFC Wild Card Game after Parker went down with a season-ending injury in Week 16...was on his way to a storybook performance in October 2005, having already punched in two first-half touchdowns against New Orleans, when a broken ankle abruptly halted his season in its tracks...possesses tailback speed in a traditional fullback frame...has the ability to pop a long run once he gets out into the open field...a big man who runs with power, also has quick feet and good speed...a north-south type runner who also can get outside and become tough to tackle in the open field...staked his own claim to being a starting-caliber runner in the NFL with an impressive performance late in 2004...in his first professional start under the bright lights of Monday Night Football, ran for 178 yards and a score on 19 carries vs. the Rams (11/29/04)...his production ranked third highest among league runners making their initial start over the prior 20 years, along with being the fifth-best one-game total in Green Bay Packers history...originally selected by Green Bay in the fourth round of the 2002 draft (135th overall) with a free agency compensatory pick.

I thought he ran pretty well for us late last season when Willie went down. With Davenport, Davis, and Moore we should be okay this comming week.

Picking up Davenport was a solid idea for the Steelers considering the injuries. I was looking at the free agents list the other day and was thinking about how would Samkon Gado would look in the Steelers scheme. Since Davenport is back on the team, never mind on that. Mewelde Moore was pretty good last night with 12 rushes for 99yrds.
