Polomalu spoke his mind in Thursday's yahoo article about how the NFL is turning into flag football following the recent fines against teams charged with laying hard hits on other players.
"Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu recently suggested that the NFL's new emphasis on fining players for big hits is aimed not at protecting players, but at ensuring that well-known players will be able to play — and thus that teams will earn more money. "

"I have a great deal of respect for him as a player, and obviously he has a right to his own views," Goodell said during an interview on WBAL-AM in Baltimore. "But to say that this is about money and not the health of our players, I think is extremely disappointing when we spend as much time as we do with active players, reviewing our rules, reviewing techniques and making sure we make the game is as safe as possible."
