Well, we beat the Colts...

Obviously a solid accomplishment, but man talk about backing into a victory. I wouldn't have thought it was possible to be discouraged by a victory over Indy, but it's hard to take this as a side that we're finding out footing.
Thoughts?

I love you for having Dexter Gordon as your avatar. If you really like jazz, I'd appreciate a checkout of my stuff in the link in my sig.
On the actual subject of the thread, I'd have to say that a victory over a severely injured Colts team (with only one real receiving option, inexperienced outside blocking and a special team unit that makes Sproles look good) is still a victory I'd take. Considering that I'm actually a hardcore Colts fan who also likes the Chargers, my opinion may have a skew. All I know is that a win is a win, so that's good. On the other hand, pass rushing needs to find a better formula, because Manning had a lot of time in the pocket, although he never fired them off because he was picked so much and he didn't have Marvin, Clark, and Gonzalez.
Offense needs to find some way to protect the ball more. The pass rushing of the Colts (even sans Freeney) was really pressuring an O-line that's supposed to be tip-top in the league, (but that's old news now).
Basically, I wouldn't complain about the win, but it did teach the lessons of a loss without actually having to suffer one, which is a good way of looking at it, I think.

Rivers played like crap. Any Chargers' fan will take the victory over the Colts, but if Clark were in the game, or even Gonzalez, who had shown steady improvement in his timing, this would've been a different game. If Vinatieri made that FG, does anyone think Rivers would've led them in a 2-minute drill for a FG or win?

It was ugly thats for sure but hey a win is a win. They really need to get things togther for this back half push of the season/playoffs. I just dont see a good team right now and I know they are there.. somewhere.

One of the few games I've seen this season, one of them included the Colts/Pats... it sure wasn't pretty but it was fun.
Why is it that I don't like Peyton Manning? I'm having a hard time figuring out why...
