Russell Wilson? LOL, the petals really started falling off of that rose a couple of years ago.

As insurance, if Rodgers gets injured again after how badly the OL was on protection against the Niners. His clingy attitude will not sit well with a no-nonsense HC like Tomlin, but with the pushover Saleh who is on the hot seat, he will reach for anything to not lose games. And why would a guy who constantly refers to himself as Mr Unlimited, if he is limited? Lol

Not sure what RW offers at this point, lol. He is a 35 year old QB who relies on his legs to extend plays out of the pocket. Was his best trait but he isn't going to have the same physical skills at age 35 that he had at age 27. He really also seemed to rub some of his teammates the wrong way in Seattle. I questioned the trade to Denver at the time and it really blew up on Denver.

How George Paton still the GM is beyond confusing when everyone but him knew how clingy he has become. Not only did he traded for him but gave him an extension with loads of perks like his own private office in the locker room when Mr Unlimited had no leverage whatsoever. It's not like he's gonna hold out on his new team if he didnt get what he wanted unless he retires. If I was the new owner, I would fire the GM immediately.

Like it wasn't him that won that SB but the dominant legion of boom, but Mr Unlimited single-handedly cost them 2 SB on one single play alone Lol

As hard as they might try and will continue to try football will just never be an analytical sport like baseball.

Case in point I saw the full grades and they gave Mason 73.1 when it came to running. He had 147 yards and a 5.3 YPC average so what more did you want him to do? He was hard to bring down after 1st contact and it seemed like he wasn't missing holes so what exactly did you knock him points down for?
Not gaining 200 plus yards or scoring multiple times and he provided no blocking help unlike their fb. Seems like a fair score to me. CMC can generate that every game without even breaking a sweat and does way more from the air. These 4 NFL rushers get higher scores in my book and all from games on the same day.

He had a long TD called back on one of the most ticky-tacky holding calls I've ever seen. That would have put him at more like 170 and two TDs. His pass blocking was excellent. His one reception was a great catch. I thought the kid had a phenomenal game. Though that's probably grading on a little bit of a curve.

LOL, I remember when the phrase Let Russ Cook was being thrown around. The bigger the load the more it seemed the offense regressed. I think his style of play let to inconsistency on offense. I remember a national NFL writer once said many years ago that being an offensive coordinator in Seattle with RW was a difficult and frustrating job because it didn't matter what your game plan was or what play you called because RW was always going off-script.

Burford may benefit from playing next to Trent in the meantime. He's a talented player, just prone to mistakes. If he can clean that up, maybe he seizes that job and doesn't give it up. Good chance Banks leaves next year, so Burford and Puni may be our starting OGs. I'm fine to make that transition now if Burford plays well.

I posted this elsewhere but I'll say it here as well. Just read this morning that Burford said he was much more comfortable playing LG which is his natural spot dating back to college. A few observers also mentioned how solid he looked at LG. Time will tell if he can maintain that but like you said if Banks leaves after this season, Burford may get the job...I don't see us re-signing Banks considering we need to pay Brock and one of our corners. Letting both corners walk would be very tough to replace. Keep Lenoir, we drafted and developed him and he's younger than Mooney.

Puni was third, just behind Trent with a 79.1. Saubert had a very low grade, which surprises me a little. Seemed like he was doing a good job blocking, though admittedly I didn't focus on him at all.

On defense, Warner was in the 90s, no surprise. Bosa also scored very high. Somewhat surprisingly, they had Lenoir with a 49.5. I thought he played well. Forced the INT, of course. When he allowed the third-down conversion, he was in great position and got a hand between Wilson and the ball, just couldn't dislodge it. I didn't see him getting beat much. Floyd also graded poorly. He got a few pressures, but may have gotten beat in the run game a few times. Hopefully Gross-Matos gets back soon so Floyd can go to more of a pass-rush specialist role. No surprise that DFF again rated poorly. That's baseline for him. I would love to see us bench him in favor of Robinson or Winters.

PFF's grades can feel wonky at times.

As hard as they might try and will continue to try football will just never be an analytical sport like baseball.

Not sure what all comprises PFF's grading formula. Only thing I can think of that might have dinged Mason's grade is on 3-4 of his runs he ran into the backs of one of his O-lineman. Which either deterred his momentum, or allowed him to be taken down shortly after.

So in that regard he did leave a bit of yardage on the field. Still though, kid had a phenomenal game and you would have to resort to nit picking to devalue his performance on Monday night.
