With all this talk of Brady and the Patriots drifting apart, I know this its probably 100% just bored columnists creating stories, but the Niners have to at least think about offering something if this "rift" grows over the summer. Tom is a bay area boy, he played for Serra High School in San Mateo and seems very happy living in Cali.
Even if Alex Smith breaks out of his shell we all know a 33 year old Brady will be vastly superior for at least another half decade. Also Tom could develop the skills of Nate Davis or whoever we decide is his replacement. IMO he's the best QB in the league over Manning and Brees. With our O-line looking to be much better, and our offensive weapons are as good as any I think Tom would not be opposed to a move.

Re: Tom Brady
Like you said this is probably just columnists trying to create a story, but if by some miracle Bob Kraft and the Patriots put Brady on the block the 49ers should attempt everything to try and get him. He is a proven winner and would definitely help develop the 49ers skill positions. Also, of course he is an automatic upgrade from Alex Smith.

Re: Tom Brady
What do you think it'll take for them to get him if he is truly shopped?

Re: Tom Brady
A ton. A couple firsts and a player at least.
