New OC

Post#1 » by Sandlot » Fri Jan 14, 2011 10:32 pm

According to the San Jose Mercury News the 49ers have named Greg Roman as their new offensive coordinator. He worked with Harbaugh at Stanford and has NFL experience as an assistant. He has worked with the Texans Tight Ends and quarterbacks, Ravens O-line, and Panthers O-line as well as strength and conditioning.

I think this sounds like another potential move. I was hoping for some real successful NFL experience but this might be the next best thing. Supposedly he was a big part of the success of Stanford's offense. I like his experience with O-line and tight ends. That could help with our inexperienced line and put emphasis on Vernon. What do you guys think?

I think it's a great addition. It's always good to have some chemistry between the head coach and the offensive coordinator so that the OC knows what the head coach wants to see. Also, I think you pretty much nailed it with his experience with offensive linemen and tight ends. Those two things are key to our success in the future (obviously).
