I'm convinced more and more every game that the NFL has no idea what a Chop Block is.

Aldon Smith is a man-beast.

I cannot describe how much I love Aldon Smith. He is becoming a dominant pass rusher. What I am excited about is how versatile of a pass rusher her is. He uses every sort of move and creates pressure almost every play. Big Ben had to throw quickly because Aldon was there.

The combination of Justin Smith (who takes up blockers) and Aldon should be a dominant combo for a few years.

Probably still does not win DROY because Von Miller plays more often but I am hoping at least that Aldon takes home the rookie sack record.

Von Miller hasn't been the same player since his injury, and with Tim Tebow stealing some/all of the spot light in Denver, I think Aldon Smith can and should win the DROY.

That being said, I need to eat a big plate of crow for the Aldon Smith pick. How many of us thought he would be THIS good, THIS fast? I thought it was another "don't let him play too much and see how he progresses in another year or 2" pick. Heck, I figured this entire team would be like that. But you know what?

I love this team. Our defense is so much fun to watch. They make me a little nervous giving up so many passing yards but then they take the ball away! I'll get to Aldon in a minute.
I am convinced that we can be superbowl champs if our Oline can play at their best. I think this is our weakest area. We have a few good guys but we are also not very consistent. Davis is a liability in a lot of games. Our red zone scoring was set up by the way our line played. I think that has also been the biggest problem in our struggles late.
Aldon Smith . . . unbelievable. I'm pretty sure that this was the most he played in a game. He played starter minutes. I think this may have been because we knew how immobile Ben would be. Aldon dominated the line. I had my eye on him on every defensive play and he gets to the QB so quickly. I actually think one of his best plays was when Moore broke free from a safety and shot up the field for about 25 yards. (maybe more) Aldon was on the far left side opposite from where Moore went. Aldon was the one who caught up with him and made a potential touchdown saving tackle. I didn't realize how fast he is and he doesn't give up on the play. He is so much fun to watch and is an amazing asset.

I thought he would take a year as well but I know for a fact that Dalbi was sold on him from the beginning. Actually I'm pretty sure he told me before the draft that Aldon could develop into a better pass rusher than Von Miller.
