Rams...The New Bengals?

Post#1 » by and1GS » Wed Feb 6, 2013 5:16 pm

First Janoris and Cortland now big dummy Titus Young?

We've all seen that this strategy can give you an initial boost but when **** hits the fan and you start dropping games, **** REALLY hits the fan. I think this will be a whatever signing for them and I see Titus blowing up at the team by mid-season (they already have Amendola taking up all the targets).

But who knows, are we seeing the resurrection of one of the Niners most hated rivals? Or are we just going to see Bradford get pummeled behind a weak line with crap RBs again?

IIRC if they cut Titus before preseason (or some other deadline, I can't remember exactly) they owe him nothing. So it's a very low risk move. See if you can reform the kid, but if not dump him at the first sign of trouble. I wouldn't touch Young if I were an NFL GM - off-field difficulties are one thing, but purposely sabatoging your own team on the field is a whole different level.

There's a very fine line to picking up headcases though...you obviously can't build an NFL team around choir boys but add too many bad apples and the barrel starts to rot. STL has Jenkins, Finnegan, Givens, now Young...they might be approaching the proverbial point of no return.

I think they keep him for the full season because they aren't getting anything better elsewhere, and these are the only players that want to play for the Rams right now. Jeff Fisher doesn't know what he's getting himself into.

However, for perspective, Ahmad Brooks was a big time headcase with the Bengals and is now an integral piece to our defense. But he was also considered a first day draft pick before the off-field stuff and attended military schools at various times in his life. Titus over-achieved at Boise and shows no sign of maturing any time soon.

Word on the street is that Young is getting cut after only a week and a half in STL...if so I can't imagine he'll get a shot elsewhere, since the Rams were the only ones to put a waiver claim on him.

What a ****ing idiot.
