Not out for the season, but probably won't be back until week 12 or later.

I got an alert on my phone the other day when this was first reported, and I honestly felt crushed. We went out and got Boldin, traded up for one of the best safeties in the draft, got a couple of steals with our next few picks, and everything was looking so damn positive. I knew I shouldn't have let myself get excited about this season.

No way he's the same player. He had just started showing more shiftyness, it will be a season till he's at 100% again.

What a straight up crippling blow. The playoffs is probably the absolute soonest you can tentatively hope he comes back. Even if he does, he will be very limited. Suggs and Daquan Bowers both had achilles injuries about the same amount of time before last season as Crab did this season. Both guys managed to come back later in the season, but both guys were clearly not right. Being a skill player its going to be tougher for Crab to come back. He has to cut/push off/and pivot much more than DL guys do.

The WR corps was average with Crab. Without him, its just bad. Boldin is the clear #1, and thats scary. Boldin is really the only guy remotely reliable. Jenkins is reportedly having another bad camp (surprise). Patton has a broken hand, and can't even catch passes right now. Williams is only practicing on a limited basis. Manningham is at lest a month away from practicing according to reports. Chad Hall has reportedly been the best WR next to Boldin, and which is not exactly confidence inspiring. Beyond that its just a bunch of guys: Ricardo Lockette, Marlon Moore, Kasim Osgood, Chuck Jacobs, Charly Martin... UGH UGH UGH

Frisco worked out Austin Collie awhile back, and he is being brought back in for a workout today. Joining him in the workout is Laurent Robinson. Both of these guys carry major injury redflags, plus concussion issues. I have heard that these guys are willing to sign a concusision waiver. If they show to be remotely healthy, I say sign them both to unguaranteed deals and see what they got. Both guys have been productive in game action before, both are still pretty young, and both still have some upside (assuming health of course). Get rid of the camp body trash currently on the roster.
