Great move if it pans out. Dirt cheap too.

National anthem?

Looks like we signed him cheap. Just need a safety now and the draft will be solely for depth once again.

Re: OT: Asomugha Sings with Niners
Hard to see a downside to this.
1 year, $1.35M base, no guaranteed money, at most $3M if he hits all his incentives.
Worst case he sucks hard and we cut him during camp, with no dead money. Best case we get a year of Pro Bowl level CB play for $3M.

He apparently spurned the Saints for us too. It's nice to be on top of the hill.

Good low risk signing. Hopefully they have him playing man again and not the effing zone.

Re: OT: Asomugha Signs with Niners
I read a quote from a Niners player (can't remember who) that said that we play about 70% man defense, which should suit Asomugha just fine. I'm trying not to go in with too many expectations, but adding a guy with that sort of talent makes me very happy going into next season.

Re: OT: Asomugha Signs with Niners
Apparently, Nnamdi himself insisted that his contract contain no guaranteed money. That means he should have a chip on his shoulder and be highly motivated. Plus returning home, can only help him.
I like having a highly motivated Nnamdi Asomugha who is also cheap labor, on my team.

Re: OT: Asomugha Signs with Niners
Fangio apparently commented that Nnamdi has been okay sometimes in practice and not performing to his abilities at other times. Somewhat frustrating considering his contract is non-guaranteed. You would assume he would be busting his butt to make the team. Maybe his new marriage is sucking the life outta him

I'm still trying to wipe the Chris Cohen stink off of me. Banging dirty pirate hookers barely masked the smell. Playoffs you say? It's a start...

^ Haha, well played...
I'm really not sure what is going on with Aso. Fangio's comments come after Nnamdi reportedly having his best two days at camp, in which Harbaugh says he has been making "eye popping" plays. Maybe Vic is just trying to get inside Nnamdi's head, in a effort to push him even further and step up and take the starting corner job from Rogers. There have been several reports saying Frisco wants to dump Rogers, and with Culliver now not in the equation Vic may want Nnamdi to step up and say that's my job.
Or maybe Harbaugh and Maiocco were imbellishing the last couple days. We'll find out soon, just where Nnamdi stands.
