Re: Chargers Game
I'd prefer Johnson simply because he gives us a better chance to win with his legs than Gabbert does with his "arm."
I'm hoping that someone ends up getting cut that we go after. I heard a rumour about Ponder earlier in the week, which I wouldn't be against, but then I heard the Vikings were keeping him.
Maybe BJ Daniels gets cut?

Please God no on Ponder....maybe I'm biased living in MN but he's horrible. And he's a little weird too. I don't get the sense his teammates care for him at all.
Daniels I could stomach and I see them keeping Pryor and TJax. I'm not a TJax fan but I'd take him over Ponder if we are going for ex-MN QBs.
Bridgewater looked decent in the limited time I watched him tonight. Not ready to start but he's got promise.

Re: Chargers Game
I think Ponder would be a significant upgrade over everything we have right now behind Kap. I think he could be very Alex Smith-like for us if he needed to play a couple games.
My concern with our current stable of backups is that Harbaugh and Roman will hold back with Kap and it could cost us a game or two. With Seattle in the division, we can't afford to lose a game because we're playing it safe with our QB, but in the NFC we can't afford to lose Kap to injury and have to play Gabbert for a few games.

I agree on the Smith comparison. I saw Smith in him when he first came into the league, but honestly he's a much worse version. I used to call him Alex 2.0, but he's worse. Holds the ball too long, weak arm, poor decisions, weird dude, and I don't thinks he real tough either. And I think he's gotten worse since he got married. His time in MN went downhill fast after they married. She's a little squirrelly off TV.

I wonder how much his issues are related to Leslie Frazier and how much they would improve with Harbaugh.
That would have been more likely a few months ago though.

One thing I thought of the other day is he's an afterthought in MN. Norv isn't even willing to take him on as a project. He's putting all his eggs in the. Cassell/Bridgewater baskets. That tells me something as well. Frazier and staff may have damaged him, but the new staff is putting zero time into him from what I've heard.

Ellington. He should be the #4 receiver heading into the season, above Lloyd and Patton.
Also, imac check your email and get back to me.

1. CBs
2. Lynch & Lemonier
3. Hyde
4. LMJ
5. Ellington (hopefully getting a chance with the 1s
6. Kaepernick
7. Backup QBs
8. M. Martin/Kilgore
9. Looney
10. Patton
11.Wilhoite/Borland
I like that list. I wanna see our first team offense put 6 on the board and our first team defense make stops(even though were not full strength)
Ian Williams playing today?

I read Martin didn't give up a single pressure against the broncos, is this true? Really would like this kid to anchor the middle for the next 10-12 years

Yeah. It forwards everything to my gmail, and there's nothing new there. The gmail is listed on the managers page with Sharks.
