For a second I thought Alex Smith was playing QB for the Seahawks last night. Wilson hardly threw a pass beyond five yards last night. Green Bay's D looked bad last night. Missed tackles, overrunning plays.

As far as Seattle's offense is concerned, Kaepernick threw for over 400 yards againsf Green Bay on its opener. We all know the 49ers offense did not carry that over into the preseason. Listening to all the post game chatter last night, Seattle is already being crowned the Super Bowl winner. Might as well cancel all the regular season games.

I didn't see the game, just caught the highlights. Seattle looks fired up to try to repeat, though. The one thing I question is their ability to last the season. Lynch is a tank, but he's had a ton of touches over the past few years. And that defensive front doesn't have quite the rotation it did last year unless a few young guys really step up (though O'Brien Schofield may finally be showing something).

I will say, much as it pains me, I like Seattle's coaching. They keep up a nice rotation on defense to keep fairly consistent pressure on the OL and QB - something Fangio seems fairly opposed to - and do a good job of stressing the entire field on offense despite lesser talent than the Niners. The Niners have solid, consistent coaching (except as it pertains to clock management and challenges), but I wish they were more creative at times.

Last night was the home opener and raising of the flag. I expected them to be fired up. Lets see how they come out against San Diego on the road next week.

Harvin did look very good last night. If he can stay healthy this year it really opens up that offense. He's drawing a lot of attention out there, and they were able to effectively use him as a decoy on several plays. We got Ward to match up to him, but it will be a tall order. We need to punish Harvin on every touch to slow him down.

If teams would play with more discipline to keep Wilson in the pocket and force him to use his noodle arm down field, he really won't look that good. It does make it hard to stop the play action though when Lynch gets rolling. I'm really looking forward to playing those guys. The defense is strong, but I have a hard time seeing them repeat this year. Key to beating them is to stop their offense and grind out points. 1. Keep Wilson in the pocket 2. Focus to stop the run 3. Don't miss opportunities for interceptions. If teams can stay consistent, doing those basic things will keep them in the game.

If Harvin stays healthy, they're gonna be tough to shut down on offense. He's perfect for them. Teams have to pick their poison: commit an extra defender to Harvin, or stack the box against Lynch. Then you've also got to worry about Russell getting loose, running around, and launching one downfield. Add in all the play action and misdirection, and it strains Ds. They can cause a lot of matchup problems right now. That said, it's a long season. If Lynch and/or Harvin goes down, it totally changes the character of that offense. To say nothing about Wilson himself.

Didn't have internet the last week because of a move so I couldn't say this last night, but damn... Collinsworth is riding seattles dick real hard these days. That was insane. I had to turn the game off on more than one occasion because of it.

Post game analysis and ESPN, if you listened to any of it, the media is already planning their parade route.

Kudos for Seattle playing well but the Packers are just plain overrated in the first place.

I never understood all the hype Ted Thompson gets as he really is just average at GM and the Packers given with Rodgers at QB should be a more successful team.

You sir failed at starting a GDT. No more for you with this type of outcome.
