The Frank Gore Appreciation Thread

Post#1 » by Tomikcon1971 » Mon Sep 8, 2014 1:38 am

In reality, this is likely Frank's last season as the lead back.....I hope he gets a ring and rides off into the sunset. But he's been a helluva back in this league. I think he's highly respected around the league and under appreciated by a lot of casual fans.

---Two ACL tears in college created a lot of doubters coming into the league.

---Diagnosed with dyslexia, he had to overcome that to even qualify for college.

---You won't find a runner with better patience and vision in my opinion.

---Great in pass protection.

---One of only two RBs left in the league for the 2005 draft (Ronnie Brown)

---29th back with more than 10,000 yards in the league

---Played behind some garbage lines when he was grinding out a lot of those yards the first 5-6 years.

---Likely not a serious HOF candidate but an all-time great in this league

Congrats on 10k and let's send him out in style.

Just needs to add a SB ring to that resume. Great career.

Garrison Hearst was always my all time favorite 49ers RB, but he's gonna have to move over for Gore.

not only did he have garbage lines most his career, he also played with no support from the passing game. Defenses focused on him for years and he still produced. I think only Peterson has had it worse when it comes to 8 man fronts.

Just needs the ring!

You forgot one. Darren Sproles was also in that draft.

Thought he still had some nice runs today. The 49ers gotta retire his number when he hangs it up

Return to San Francisco 49ers
