Glazer: 49ers shopped Ahmad Brooks this week

Said on air just now they almost had a deal to send him to Cleveland but "they backed out at the 11th hour." I'm assuming he meant Cleveland backed out but I'm not 100% sure. This isn't the first time the 49ers reportedly shopped Brooks so it's hardly surprising.

Shows their faith in Lynch. It will be Lynch and Aldon no later than next season imo. Brooks will be gone.

Brook will be gone next season, but I'm glad they didn't trade him now. They won't get much for him w/ the size of his contract. I'm thinking they were probably talking a 6th round pick.

I'd rather have Brooks going into the postseason; you can never have too much depth in the playoffs. Let Lynch sub' for him a lot but keep Brooks doing his thing; he's still probably the best edge-setting OLB in the NFC. He does everything great except rush the passer, and that's where Lynch comes in.
