GWT: Seahawks at 49ers
While we're busy bemoaning the offense, here's something else that needs to be fixed by Thursday.

No Anthony Davis again is going to be a huge problem. The right side of the line is going to be **** in the run game and pass game. We are gonna need a TE who is healthy and can block to be over there.

Re: GWT: Seahawks at 49ers
On the positive side, Seattle has to travel to SF on a short week which eats into their prep and rest a little bit. Not a huge deal with it being a short flight, but a small advantage. If this game was in Seattle (on a short week) I'd be fearing a double digit loss, but I like our chances at home. Kaep has got to make a few big plays and not turn the ball over more than once. Oline needs to play their best- protect and open up some nice holes. Our run defense concerns me and a couple shot plays with Wilson extending plays and getting the ball down the field for big gains also concerns me.

They have Bobby Wagner, Kam chancellor, James carpenter back for this game so I think it's going to take a huge game from the team.

Kaepernick is good for one TD and one fourth down broken play per game. Outside of that, it's up to Roman/coaching and the gameplan.

Since 2011, the 49ers defense has allowed nine 100-yard rushing performances (including playoffs). Marshawn Lynch has 4 of the 9.

And on the other side, Gore has killed Seattle several times. Key to the game might be a disciplined pass rush by us, don't let that little dude out of the pocket. Sack him when you get the chance.

I'd say that's pretty accurate- especially when playing Seattle.

Re: GWT: Seahawks at 49ers
Levi's stadium needs to be rocking tomorrow night. It hasn't been viewed as a tough place to play for opposing teams so far in its existence. When I was at the KC game earlier this year- it wasn't particularly loud. That needs to change quickly.

Crap looks like carrier and AD are a no go. Also have VMac as questionable.
This could be real bad as far as blocking goes. VD is our only "healthy" tight end.

I think it's going to come down to which qb is able to make a play when things are stifled. Wilson hasn't been great this year but I think he's better than Kaepernick. I really want to be wrong.

Re: GWT: Seahawks at 49ers
Well......when the season began I think coming into tomorrow's game with the same record as SEA was viewed as a positive and a high probability. I don't think anyone predicted two 7-4 teams trying to bolster their playoff hopes.
I did predict in my bold predictions on WZ that "the birds" would win the west....just not the Hawks. I've been prophetic so far but I think the Cards falter down the stretch without Palmer. Signing Michael Bush won't right the ship.
To me, tomorrow's game is more of a must win for us than SEA. They get a second shot to split the series at home. They win at Levi's and they will be supremely confident in two weeks at home and we may be cooked.
Now.....a bunch of random comments in no particular order.
---Our knack for scoring early and then going stagnant on offense is maddening. Right or wrong I put that on play calling rather than the players. I honestly think Roman and Harbs outsmart themselves and try to get too cute sometimes. I don't think we can overcome a long stagnant offensive period tomorrow.
---In the good column SEA seems to be catching a few less breaks is year and they aren't generating turnovers at the same rate this year. We won't win the game if we lose the turnover battle. Nothing earth shattering there.
---The defense has been phenomenal this year given all the injuries and who's been forced into duty. Regardless of what happens this season that unit and Fangio have earned my utmost respect. They need to contain Wilson and tackle Lynch quickly tomorrow. I can't believe how many people try to take him on high. That's a losing proposition almost every time.
---Moeaki scares me against Willhoite and Borland.....he was an up and coming player at KC before an injury (knee?). I've got a bad feeling about their TEs against our LBs. Gut feeling.
---Bethea has been our best signing since J. Smith unless I'm missing something obvious. Boldin was a trade before anyone jumps in. We'd be 2-9 or 3-8 with Whitner back there, IMHO.
---Our starting DBs have more INTs than SEA's DBs which was another bold prediction I've gotten lucky on so far. Cully and Cox have been really good, Cox more than Cully. Ward looked BAD before he went on IR. Teams went right after him....maybe he'll be better at safety some day.
---Aldon coming back has given our D even more of a boost and it couldn't come at a better time. We need pressure down the stretch and he's fresh legs. I think he, Lynch, and Brooks could really bolster our playoff run if we get into the dance. I agree with Harbs that we can't win a SB with this D without Brooks. He's infuriating at times, but we need him until Lynch is a little more seasoned. Aldon is a must re-sign. No doubt.
---VD and Crabs just don't look the same to me.....and neither does Gore the last few weeks. I fear VDs performance could really be our downfall at a key point in a critical game. Too many drops by him and really all our receivers. We need them both tomorrow but I hope the "revenge of Crabs" isn't a goal for tomorrow. Win the game and Sherman keeps his yapper shut.
---I also hope we aren't seeing the demise of Gore "in season".....that could be a killer unless Hyde steps in ASAP.
---I think Kaep is playing better this year if you take into account all the drops and the miserable O-line play at times. Kaep is not a great QB. But even a great QB (Brady, Rodgers, Manning, etc) doesn't play wll when pressured. No QB likes pressure. Kaep's progressions and reads are still developing skills and his mobility is bailing him out. Imagine how many sacks he'd have without his feet and athleticism. I think we need to dust of the run the receivers deep and run Kaep plays from the NFC Champ game. That worked.
---I don't get why teams don't use this but Sherman's weakness is his inability to change directions quickly. Those kinds of players (like Stevie Johnson) give him major fits. I'm not a film junkie but he doesn't do well when recievers change directions rapidly. When SEA gets pressure, maybe the lack of time for the QB guards against this but I want a big dose of Stevie on Richard tomorrow.
---I'd be interested in seeing some four and five receiver sets against SEA. Not all game but here and there.
---Is it just me or does our offense look better with Miller on the field? He's a great relief valve and possibly underused.
---Marcus Martin is going to be a great center if his first few games are any indication. I hope he dominates Williams tomorrow night. Start his legacy in a big game. Man he's young.
---Things that scare me to tomorrow.....losing turnover battle, how J. Martin holds up, our LBs in coverage, Wilson and his knack for getting away from danger, Harbs dumb challenges, VDs drops, our return game, more defensive injuries, and getting behind early.
---if we get our offense on track we can make a deep deep playoff run, but I've seen nothing lately to make me believe we're about to "pop".
Whew.....sorry for the long post...the homer in me says Niners 23-20, but my gut is telling me Hawks 27-20. I think we've been scraping by some crappy teams the last three weeks and that's not a good sign.
