I don't get it. We're not allowed to keep him in the eyes of the public but if it's cool if another team picks him up off the street?
This PC world blows.

Re: Aldon Smith, a Raider
No, nobody care about TO being a cancer and forcing his way out after he was traded.
Similarly, Haley was lauded after the 49ers had to let him go.
Chris Webber had a big career after leaving here and people forgot the circumstances under which he left.
It's the stupid rich boy who was handed the team running his mouth off and boxing the team into a corner.
Aldon denied it was DUI. The team isn't bound to use the legal standard. All it cared about was PR, which is strange given how they threw a middle finger at the fan base with the way they handled Harbaugh.
At least it wasn't the Seahawks that poached him.

NFL Network reported that 6 other teams were interested including Rams no Jaguars but he preferred to stay in the area.
He can earn up to $8 million.

Re: Aldon Smith, a Raider
Per NFL rule under the newest revision to the CBA, the Raiders could face team discipline in the form of a fine and/or loss of a draft pick(s) for taking on a player (Smith) who has had multiple violations with the NFL if he finds himself in trouble again. This is a rule that if you're a person in charge or with roster power you must keep in the back of your mind and not something I ever see fans consider.
I will add the disclaimer I add every time I bring up this somewhat new rule. When the Cincinnati Bengals couldn't go one week without 1 of their players finding themselves in trouble with the law years ago, they were never fined (that the public was aware of) or docked a draft pick, and there have been no known instances thus far that say a team has found themselves in trouble with the NFL for keeping or signing a troubled player.
I would also have to think that if somebody is going to find themselves in trouble with this rule, it might have to do with being attached to a player with as long of a history as Smith has, however.

Was assuming they'd wait about 45 min from kickoff before suspending. Mind boggling he's actually playing right now. If no future loss of picks/fines its absolutely ridiculous

Aldon Smith said he's excited to "be a part of a bunch of guys who work hard and an organization who looks out for their players." #Raiders
If he doesn't understand how many chances we gave him, then I don't feel confident in his ability to stay out of trouble. Self pity never leads to change.

After that loss best thing to do is go home and drown your sorrows

Crabs and Aldon must be hitting the same bong there in Oakland.
The organization bent over backwards for not just him but other guys on the team as well.
I just don't get how these guys piss away millions by not staying out of trouble
