And they make us wait not only until Monday, but at a later time-slot - I do love night games, but I don't like the wait.

Yeah, I get it but I can really sit down Sunday and watch all the games and not have to think about the Niners that first day....just soak it all in.......

Banks has the Vikings winning 34-17 and it's those kind of predictions that especially makes me want to see the team win and win big.

I can see the Vikings winning but I can't see them putting up 34 points as the 9ers defense isn't that bad and Vikings have some issues with the offensive line. Not having your starting C and RT isn't a recipe for your offense to firing on all cylinders.

If we lose the game, would you rather lose 9-6, 6-3 variety and know our defense is good (but offense awful), or lose 34-17? Because 17 is bad offensively, despite being more than 6 or 3. But 34 would mean our bright spot is duller than we thought (at least to start with). I left out a shutout because I think that would be too unappealing to have a tradeoff.

Its really hard to tell this week as Tomsula is not tipping his hand.

Especially with the return duties...

Given the opponent I would feel better about a loss of the low scoring variety.

The Vikings have a legitimately good defense with a defensive minded head coach so I would say there isn't as much shame for the offense to not score many points. And we know the offense isn't exactly firing on all cylinders which means there would be potential to bounce back from a poor offensive showing.

The Vikings offense is missing two starters on the offensive line so if they put up 34 points it would mean the strongest unit on the team the front 7 got beat badly and that would be spell disaster for the season.

If the 9ers expect to have a good season this game is pretty much a must win. Vikings are a good not great team and it's the kind of team you need to beat if you want to taken as a seriously as a good team. Because next week the deck couldn't be more stacked against the Steelers as they had a game Thursday while the 9ers have to play them at 10 am Sunday after playing a late Monday night game so the odds are that will be a loss and losing to the Vikings mean it would be 0-2 out of the gate.

ESPN NFL Matchup anticipates the Vikings will try to exploit the new OL with double A-gap blitzes, 2 LBs showing blitz wit one safety right up against the TE, trying to confuse the OL on which of the 3 showing blitz pre-snap are coming.

The sad part is they probably wouldn't need to go to those lengths to confuse the offensive line.

I'm sure just being in their base defense would be enough to cause confusion among the OL.

I'm hoping for the low scoring kind of game. I like defensive battles... and I'm hoping the defense will be good enough this year to make up for the offensive line issues and Kaeps issues until they can overcome that side of the ball... If the Vikings are able to roll the defense then the Niners might be fighting it out with the Foreskins for the number one draft pick...I'm not optimistic... Im hoping Tomsula will be Singletary 8-8 bad not Erickson bad....I'm really hoping Tomsula turns out to be Walsh, Landry, Harbaugh, Lombardi good but the cynic in me is seeing 8-8 at best... 4-12 at worst..
