2015-16 Niners Season Prediction Thread

I'm not going to analyze this in detail but I don't see 8-8. This will be either a "shock the world" run with a surprising playoff appearance or a complete train wreck.

I'm guessing most people bet on the latter but this season will be a window into the team's character and leadership (barring a rash of injuries that make it impossible to compete).

Well now that we are 3/4 of the way into preseason I'm leaning more towards train wreck. If we lose to MN the first game of the season (very possible) then I'm thinking 4-5 wins.

As annoying as Harbaugh's personality probably was he seemed to provide (or generate) some kind of energy that I'm just not seeing right now. At points last night it really seemed like some players (not all) were just going through the motions. That's disturbing. Denver seemed jacked up and way more emotional invested.

If they don't clean up the pass protection issues it's going to an airplane crashing into the train causing the wreck. The offense can move the ball on the ground and I feel Kap could do well throwing the ball if he could actually have some sort of a comfort level with the line's ability to protect him.

I disagree about the energy Harbaugh brought. I thought it was there in 2011 and 2012 but thought that spark left last season for whatever reason. I thought the game last year at home against Seattle highlighted it best. The team should have been fired up to avenge the prior season's NFCGC loss including all the stunts from Sherman. I know what Walsh's teams would have played that night. Instead the team came out flat. Same thing the following game against the Raiders. The oline and offense wasn't very good last season under Harbaugh and I question what would have happened this year with the oline's struggles.

If the oline doesn't get better, going to be a really tough season. I think the D is not bad, but we can't leave them on the field that often and expect good results.

Our first 5 games aren't against any formidable pass rushing teams--correct me if I'm wrong--I think there's a chance to gain some chemistry before the inevitable slaughter by the Ravens, Seahawks, and Rams.

I agree....I can easily see us going 4-1 or most likely 3-2 after the first five games.

Min-Not sure how they have looked as I have not been following them. AP is the only guy who scares me here and even he hasn't carried the load in a whole year. I expect a close game until the late 3rd quarter as we pull away.

Pit- Has been riddled with injuries and will have a couple key guys out with suspensions. Antonio browns speed scares me here but other than that not much. There defense is not as strong as in the past.

AZ-I see a let down from them this year. There pretty similar to us with there defense keeping them in games. They have a very good secondary but there front 7 seven is lacking. There offense will depend on Carson Palmer and right now they have Iupati out and massie suspended.

GB- Aaron Rodger is Rodgers however he may be without Cobb and already out with Nelson. There D looks better but still not elite.

NYG-Odell and Victor Cruz could hurt us but Eli hasnt been on his game lately. Might be just how they like it as they seem to do there best when doubted. Not sure how there D looks overall but they will most likely be missing JPP.

4-1 is not out of the question here.

Hopefully we get Kilgore back by then. I think he misses the first six games? I guess he probably won't be that effective anyway since missing all that game time.

I'm still going 8-8 with the high being 10-6 and the low being 5-11.

I feel they will struggle early but finish strong as guys get more comfortable in their roles and start to gel together on both sides of the ball.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

Ceiling: 10-6. Don't laugh ... It's possible. Colin Kaepernick must develop some touch ... some loft ... basically, refine the parts of his game that could make a wideout's job easier. Carlos Hyde becomes Frank Gore 2.0 with a bit more speed. Lastly, Aaron Lynch plays like an All-Pro pass rusher, because he might not have any help.

Floor: 5-11. San Francisco still maintains a decent talent level, even if the prognostications of a season in Mordor continue to run rampant. That said, now devoid of Aldon Smith and fresh off enough retirements to start an Old-Timers' Pro Bowl Team, Jim Tomsula sees the dearth of front-line players cause a ripple effect in his defense. #4-12?
