That's an "if" though. Reid is actually very fast. He accelerates extremely well. The only question is whether he can do it from a low center of gravity playing man coverage.

If he's useless at safety because he's broken, I don't see how it could hurt to try him at the Nickel CB position.

He is not broken, he is trying to help too much over the middle and against the run because there is no pressure on the QB most of the time and the line can't stop the run without a lot of support. We need him to forget that and just do his job instead of trying to do others for them. We can't afford to lose another first round pick. That means there would be a lesser player out on the field for Ward who would have to slide over. Ward has been getting better and playing slot extremely well. We need more talent and athleticism on the field, not less.
