He's promoting a new 30 for 30 documentary on the '85 Bears. Guess it's been 30 years since their SB win.
Heard him on the ESPN NFL podcast talk briefly about the Panthers. Then the hosts noted that he's said to be disappointed about not getting any other HC opportunities.
They were kind to him, though he was no longer on with them. Said he could be a good HC.
Supposedly he was interested in being the Giants DC but that didn't pan out.
He hasn't coached much since leaving the 49ers. He had a job with his former teammate Frazier with the Vikings.
But he hasn't really put in the work. He could be inspirational to players though up to a point. I don't know that his old school ways will play with today's players. Of course he needs to get up on the schematics if he's going to be a DC and use that as a launching pad for another HC bid.
I don't think it's going to happen though. People have said he was clueless, just pure incompetence. Even if Martz wasn't philosophically a match, he should have leaned on him to learn the tactics of the game better.
But the poor job he did made way for Harbaugh. Maybe the 49ers will have a similar experience going from Tomsula to Kelly -- one can only hope.

Re: Singletary
No one is going to give Singletary a gig after what happened with the 49ers. He needs to spend more time as a position coach and continue trying to get a coordinator position. Don't know that he even has the ability to be a DC. For Singletary to have been successful in SF, he needed strong coordinators. While Martz had issues, at least he had success as an OC. Singletary was doomed when he replaced Martz with Jimmy Raye. Jimmy Raye was clearly unqualified and made a mess of the offense. Manusky was also not a very good DC.
