Way too much guaranteed for a CB who will be 34 when this contract ends. That said, Baalke is going to have to spend some of that cash at some point. If he wants to spend it on homegrown talent, then he'll have to pick up some more talent to spend it on....

Those rookie contracts means he won't have to spend it for several more years. I can't wrap my head around what is going on other than Jed York saving hoards of cash year after year for the foreseeable future.
Is there a limit to how many years you can roll over cap space?

I'm a bit hazy on the details, but I believe you have to use something like 90% of your cap space in a three-year period. I think that period ended this year, though, and we hit the number. Not sure if that renews for a new three-year period or what.
