We should dump him anyway and give his roster spot to a young guy. We aren't competing for anything anyway. If we dumped Boldin why stop there.

I think he should (and will be) dumped as well.

It's clear everybody in the building is treating this as a rebuilding year so there is absolutely no reason to not give the young guys the reps and experience. Just put Tank and Harlod in there the first couple of games or just go with the 4 man fronts a little more.

I disagree. I think most of the front office is counting PSA proceeds. I don't believe anybody (literally anybody) in the front office cares what this team does or doesn't do on the field.

If they really didn't care Tomsula would still be coach.

I don't see a demonstrative difference. If they really DID care, they never would have dumped the only relevant coach they've ever hired.

Frankly, I don't think Kelly is in the NFL if this front office didn't hire him.

I believe they do care I just think they are just incompetent.

They were fully convinced the roster was Super Bowl caliber, Harbaugh wasn't a good enough coach that was worth the headache, and Tomsula was fully capable of being a winning head coach.

My guess has always been that Baalke was convinced and convinced York that the roster was fully capable of winning a SB and didn't need Harbaugh and I believe York was fully convinced that Tomsula was good enough to win with the roster.

I think everything started to come crashing down when they couldn't get any decent assistants to work with Tomsula. I believe that they believed that they thought this was an attractive situation and they wouldn't have any issues getting whoever they wanted to coach for them and I think it was a big "uh oh" moment when nobody was leaping at the chance to be a 49er coach.

Dumping Harbaugh doesn't mean they didn't care, just means they made poor decisions. We'll see how well Harbaugh does someday back in the NFL when he doesn't have a pro bowl roster and a first class defensive staff. We'll also see how long another FO will tolerate him.

To kind of get this thread back on track, Marcus Rush is making a legit bid for the roster. I had assumed Lemonier would make the team while Lynch was suspended, but Rush really showed some pass rushing ability this week. Admittedly, he was playing against a guy who will not make an NFL roster, but so was Lemonier, and he was invisible. Rush had great college production, and actually put up very solid testing numbers at his pro day (wasn't even invited to be combine). He has a real chance to stick.

Poor coaching under Tomsula. The big issue to me and where I was most concerned going into last year was with both coordinators. Both turned out to be poor coordinators.
