Purely for entertainment purposes, I'm almost definitely going to come back to this post/quote down the road because of the expected reactions it will receive.

Who could it possibly be? Eric Reid, Hyde and Jimmy Ward are obvious possibilities but who else?

Reid is a must-extend. Same w/ Ward & Hyde.

Aaron Lynch is a must-extend too (despite being a dummy, but we knew he'd do that when Baalke drafted him). Gotta buy low. Give him a 5-year deal.

I want to keep Dontae Johnson around. JMHO. Give him an extension.

Aaron Lynch hasn't proven enough to make me want to give him anything lucrative. He's just not that great and a knucklehead to boot. We need an upgrade at the position and I was hoping Garrett would be that guy but it looks like he's destined for Cleveland

So, a day after signing the ridiculous extension Vance injures his shoulder.

I have yet to hear of the hear of the severity, but its just one of MANY reasons why the timing of that extension was so ridiculously stupid. If its a serious shoulder injury, he could very well miss time next season. Not to mention he would have been toxic in free agency.

Vance put on IR with the shoulder injury.

Took all of 1 whole day for that extension to already come back to bite the team in the ass.

Thanks, Trent

Not exactly sure why they didn't wait till the end of the season to extend him just for a reason like this.

Not that a shoulder injury likely will have any lasting effect on his play but what if he blew out his knee in the last 4 games? Just wait and sign these guys right at the end of the season and not just before it.

^Yeah, zero reason to do that extension at that time. None.

If that extension never happened, Vance probably has to settle for a heavily incentive laden 1 year show me type contract.

Ok details have emerged of the contract that Vance actually signed. It is really a 3 year $19.7 million with a $7 million signing bonus. The last two years are club options.
