All I have to say is good for Mark Uyeyama (former strength and cond. coach). The junk he took from a chunk of Bay Area fans (yeah, I'm railing on them a lot lately) was absolutely ridiculous at times. Genuinely one of the best in the business, and one of the better humans in it, didn't deserve most, if not all, of the unsubstantiated, speculative junk from some of the fans over the years. Hope he's enjoying better days in Minnesota.
On the flip side closer to home. These injuries are ridiculous. If Jay Glazer can be believed as of this week, Saleh's credibility and overall opinions on in the league actually has gone up given the......talent..... that he's been forced to or asked to work with the last several weeks. Gosh I want to say something else other than "talent." He's not for me as a coach just because his beliefs and preferences for defense are different for mine but he's reportedly earned much more respect than he had been getting at the start of the year. Whether that means anything or not is up to each individual person.
Thought Uyeyama got way more flak than he deserved. All a quality S&C coach is going to do is make sure everyone is in their optimal condition, prevent soft tissue injuries as much as possible and get injured guys back on the field asap. You can't control a lot of injuries that occur in football and the only time I would really put a more critical eye on the S&C coach is if there was an unusual amount of hamstring and groin pulls or guys were wearing down at the end of the games when snap count or temperature shouldn't have been a factor.
Like the list of injuries the team has now the S&C coach could do little to prevent them. Can't really prevent broken bones and sprains which is what a lot of what the injuries are.

Overriding point: 99.9% of the regular, every day, run-of-the-mill fans should not have an opinion on a S&C coach that registers and gets placed anywhere other than on the reactionary, run-of-the-mill opinion pile. Many of said opinions can be placed on a sub pile titled "garbage." In my opinion. And there were a whollllllle lot of them in and around Niners games when he was around. Remember, there are a lot of fans out there that say a lot of stuff, hence the 99.9% statistic.

I'm just happy the guy landed somewhere that should be good for him professionally given what many around the league think of the guy. Or at least did when he was around and then left. Haven't seen anything to suggest he's tanked his career since joining them.
