I wish we could re-draft. The longer the season goes on, the more I hate the Solomon Thomas pick. Blair and Tank are good rotational guys with Buckner and Armstead. We should have went with what we had. Filled out the roster better

I said the same thing about Solomon Thomas before the draft. Basically my argument was that he plays the same type of position as Armstead and Buckner and drafting him as a luxury. I wanted Corey Davis

I think they got duped with a Lynch/Stanford love affair. So much talent after that pick that would have been better served. We have to hope he makes a transformation and the constant “he’s only 21” bs guys are selling is the cause.

As for on field ability I just don’t see it. This scheme isn’t for him. It takes really piss poor football IQ to lead the team in tackling guys without the ball. I don’t for a second believe he’s taught to do that. Anyone who has played knows you can locate the ball carrier and make an effort to tackle him instead of a pre-snap determination to tackle a specific guy no matter what.

ah geesh... i understand the letdown in Thomas' selection as of this moment, but lets continue to hold up like we did the last 10 DL we pick lol jk....

I think believe/pray to god that a full true offseason workout/training for Solomon can show great results. Thus waiting til next year to show us something special.

Cause right now, don't look good. But lets hold hope!

(would help if Armstead does something worthy if healthy, Buckner is handling his own!)

Has Armstead been any better? He's been injury prone and hasn't done much. Thomas at least sets the edge in the running game and I feel with a full offseason he will be evolve into the player team envisioned when they drafted him. The one position we NEED to upgrade is LEO the RDE. Put a stud next to Buckner and watch the pass rush take off. His back up at LEO would be Dumervil, and on the left side we would have Solomon Thomas backed up by Ronald Blair. Inside DJ Jones would spell Mitchell. I would honestly try to trade Armstead.

Very.well.said. armstead is far from a lock. Injury prone and hasnt done much in the Leo role. Not sure what his place is on this team. He has done okay at times but Thomas will be better

Yes sir, and speaking of changes, I would also good bye to Jimmie Ward. 4 seasons in the league and 3 of those ended up on IR. Adrian Colbert has shown some nice range in coverage as well as hitting ability, so his emergence spells trouble for Ward. They need to rescind his 5th year option and let him walk. As for SS, Tartt has supplanted Reid there had It not been for his own injury. I think Reid is still better at SS than FS, but I think they let him walk, Tartt may be better overall anyway. At CB, they have found a good 2nd corner in Ahkello (hopefully he becomes top notch) but for now, the other one needs to be addressed. Not sure who is available in free agency in March, but I would like a veteran corner honestly. Nice thing about this regime is they like to use free agency more than Trent "we are a draft and develop team" Baalke. So a vet corner would be nice and then draft one in the middle rounds and maybe late round one as well.

I am starting to feel that way about Ward too. There are players Baalke drafted that just can't seem to stay healthy. They miss multiple games year after year and it appears they can't be relied upon moving forward.
