Chiefs CB Marcus Peters was named the Associated Press' 2015 Defensive Rookie of the Year.

The Chiefs featured Peters as a shadow corner in his first season, lining him up against No. 1 receivers despite his rookie status. He led the NFL with eight interceptions and 26 pass breakups, emerging as one of the league’s top playmakers. Peters received 45-of-50 votes. Bills CB Ronald Darby finished in second place with four votes.

Darby should have won. Wasn't a fan of Darby in during the draft process, I had Jones #1, Peters #2, and Darby I thought would be a waste of a pick, but he quickly proved me wrong. Also, don't recall Peters ever shadowing receivers. He was usually LCB and Sean Smith was RCB

How did you feel about Kevin Johnson?

He was 5th.

Jones
Peters
Amos (Thought he would convert back to CB)
Waynes
Johnson

Sammie Coates - WR - Steelers

Steelers GM Kevin Colbert pointed to Sammie Coates when asked if Pittsburgh has any urgency to upgrade at wide receiver.

Coates was a luxury pick in the third round of last year's draft, but he is now a likely contributor after Martavis Bryant's suspension. "We feel good about Sammie Coates," Colbert insisted. Coates did nothing in his rookie regular season, but he picked up gains of 37 and 24 yards in the Steelers' playoff loss to Denver. Coates is still a long shot for significant 2016 fantasy value.

Sammie Coates - WR - Steelers

Speaking Monday, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said "we're excited about the growth and development of Sammie Coates."

Tomlin's words echo comments made by GM Kevin Colbert on Sunday. Coates barely played as a rookie last season, but it's clear the Steelers envision a dramatically increased role in the absence of Martavis Bryant. Coates will likely begin the year fifth on the targets totem pole behind Antonio Brown, Le'Veon Bell, Markus Wheaton and Ladarius Green, but could offer upside as a WR5 bench stash.

Jay Ajayi - RB - Dolphins

Ryan Tannehill expects new coach Adam Gase to give his running backs entire series.

"That'll be good for Jay," Tannehill said of hyped second-year pro Jay Ajayi. The Dolphins' old staff made a habit of getting too cute in the backfield, shuttling Lamar Miller off the field far too often. Ajayi has durability question marks, but the kind of three-down skill-set that would certainly enable him to remain on the field if Gase is serious about letting him get into a rhythm. With the Dolphins striking out on running backs over and over again in free agency, Ajayi is very much on the RB2 radar for the time being. Miami remains highly likely to draft competition.

Matt Jones - RB - Redskins

CSN Mid-Atlantic's Rich Tandler said the Redskins "seem to be" confident in Matt Jones as their lead back.

Tandler cites Washington's lack of activity in the running back market to this point in free agency as a sign the team is confident in Jones. That may be true, but it also would not be surprising if the Redskins added a veteran running back in the latter stages of free agency and a rookie in the draft. Jones is currently poised to open the season as the starter, but he still needs to prove his fumbling and consistency issues have been fixed.

Jameis Winston - QB - Buccaneers

Jameis Winston said he wants to change his body this offseason.

He went to January's Pro Bowl and came away impressed by how Russell Wilson and Julio Jones looked physically. Winston weighed close to 250 at one point last offseason but was listed at 231. He doesn't need to have a six-pack but getting leaner could help Winston's mobility. Winston rushed for 213 yards and six touchdowns last season. Both numbers were better than expected.

Breshad Perriman said his dropped passes are "really all mental."

Perriman had an up-and-down first NFL offseason, flashing "playmaking skills and explosiveness along with a tendency to lose his concentration and drop passes." He dropped 8-of-54 catchable passes at Central Florida last year. Heightened focus should be a fixable issue and we still expect Perriman to beat out Kamar Aiken and Marlon Brown. The Ravens will want their first-round pick to win the starting X job opposite Steve Smith.

Despite this being an Ozzie Newsome pick, I was never as optimistic about Perriman as most. I thought he was a 2nd-round talent.

I wanted the 49ers to draft Perriman. That is just based on some of things I read about him. Seemed like a good fit. I don't watch college ball and never watched him play so I am not the best authority on college talent, lol
