This is Maiocco's statement on this question:

One option the team will not explore is Mike McGlinchey switching to the left side. Shanahan doesn’t believe that one side is more important as defensive ends often rush from both sides, with the exception of Von Miller.

I think that's somewhat silly. It's your QB's blind side. Skule has more experience on the left than McGlinchey does (I believe McGlinchey only played on the left in his last year at ND), and there is something to be said for keeping continuity where possible, but McGlinchey is far more physically gifted and more experienced in the NFL. He's also the heir apparent at LT.

To be fair, Thomas kind of lucked into the sack, which was the definition of a clean-up when Dalton was flushed into him. Though he was triple-teamed on the play, so not surprising that he didn't get there first. Incidentally, how did that happen? Who blew the assignment/call in such a way that Solomon Thomas of all people was triple-teamed?[/quote]

Ok fair, more of a coverage sack. But the bigger highlight is the secondary. Ahkello is playing very well, Sherman is Sherman, and I thought DJ Reed played well at Cin - I believe 2 PDs. Moore shouldve had a pick 6 in Tampa going the other way across the field - he dropped that 4th down pick at the goal line. Very pleased with the secondary now that the team has a good pass rush. Lets hope Tartt stays healthy this year.
