Notice i_am_1z only shows up when he thinks things are going bad for 49ers? He popped in for one play, we scored a TD immediately after, he vanished.

Typical Grant Cohn behavior.

1z is a true troll. Most of us are passionate niners fans who may disagree on certain players. 1z is different, he typically comes on here to attack other posters and talk crap.

When Jimmy had time, he was as accurate tonight as I've seen him be. And when we had guys who can catch the ball, the offense can be very tough to handle. The challenge is giving him the time to throw. I think Brunskill may have earned another start assuming Staley will still be out. And maybe some tough decisions need to be made even when Staley returns given how badly he and McGlinchey played against Seattle.

Interesting that Jimmy G was perfect when he threw to anyone other than a RB. He had 2 incompletions throwing to Mostert, 2 to Coleman, and one to Wilson. But when throwing to anybody else, he was 11-11 for 221 yards.

Odd that Sanders was only targeted once tonight. Wondering if that's because of his injury or if the Packers schemed to keep the ball out of his hands.

But night and day the difference when Kittle plays. Jimmy was 6-6 when throwing to Kittle. And with Kittle back, we also ran for 100 yards again. Stay healthy, George!

Jimmy G is still a young QB which the world tends to forget about him. Is he playing up to his contract? Imo no but if he manages to not give the ball away from here on out than that’s a step. No he’s not a MVP type QB but he makes big plays happens for an offense who wants to run the ball down other teams throats.

I think he has played as good as we could have realistically could have asked for after a major surgery. I am happy with how he has played overall, he could be a lot better and I think he is getting there

The encouraging sign for me is that Jimmy did not have any of those cringe-worthy "what are you thinking" throws tonight. Ones that even if not intercepted could easily have been - which he seemed to have a few of them every game. None of those tonight. And while some may disagree, I was glad to see him take a sack so that we could punt it away and let our defense do their thing with good field position rather than forcing a pick just to avoid a sack and then our defense is backed up to our own end zone.

He's clearly not Russell Wilson, but as long as he doesn't make the bonehead play that costs us the game he is good enough to win games for us.

It was a very good showing overall. That said, despite the raw numbers, I think there's still room for improvement. He took a number of sacks that I thought he could/should have avoided. That said, if he's taking sacks instead of forcing ill-advised throws, I will definitely take that. It also seemed, especially early in the game, like we couldn't bounce back from setbacks on offense. If we had a holding penalty on first down, it seemed inevitable that we wouldn't convert a first down that drive. This was arguably Garoppolo's best game with the Niners, and it came against at least a solid opponent (GB has been pretty good against the pass this year, and shaky against the run). It's promising. Odds are he'll have to continue to play well next week.

I wonder if they kind of kept the offensive game plan or play calling relatively conservative except for those shot plays.

The way they were smothering the Packers offense, Kyle may have decided not to try to throw too much or take unnecessary risks.

For instance, on third and long plays he may have chosen to hand it off to an RB or try a screen pass.
