Re: Garoppolo, he had the one appalling INT today, but otherwise he played well. The other INT wasn't a good throw, but it's bad luck the ball popped up to the defender. I don't have a good answer for him. He's obviously got talent, but he needs to start seeing the field together. We're like 19 or 20 games into his career. Can he improve his field vision? If he can't, I agree he's not the longterm answer. But if he can, he can certainly steer this team. And I do like how he (generally; last week the striking exception) bounces back from bad plays to keep making tough throws.

This wasn't the prettiest win, but this is the type of game we would have found a way to lose the last couple years.

Goodwin managed it once with Jimmy during that run in '17.

He was under pressure but also the color guy said there was the RB wide open in the flat. Probably not a good decision to try to get the ball to Dwelley against pressure.

Maybe a great WR catches the ball thrown behind him rather than tip it up.

Jimmy is willing to throw in the face of pressure, knowing he will be hit. But sometimes, maybe the decision-making isn't there.

However, the game-winning TD pass was against the zone blitz and the 49ers were fortunate that Wilson beat Chandler Jones trying to cover him immediately.

Everyone is focused on the INTs, but i dont think he gets enough credit for how many times he stands in the pocket, takes a hit and delivers the ball. Dodub commented about playing scared in the pocket, but more often than not he is standing his ground and making plays under pressure, a lot. The game winning TD had a blitzer in his face to.

You mean one that can throw for 500 yards instead of only 424 yards and 5 TD's instead of only 4? Some people will never be satisfied.

Exactly. A number of times he held it till the very last second to let the receiver get free for the completion even though he knew he himself would take the big hit. A QB that is scared can't/won't do that. Some posters are blatantly biased but can't admit it.

25-30 against the blitz, probably most of those yards and a couple of TDs.

He will face pressure against the Packers and Ravens blitz a lot. Saints also strong pass rush in the dome.
