While he'll only be required to miss 3 games, I bet we probably won't see him until after the week 11 bye.

Like I said earlier, they really need to find a way to go at least 2-2 in this tough 4 game stretch before the bye.

Saying they have received calls kinda smells like they are trying to drum up manufactured interest.

Even if they trade him for the meager right to swap 7th rounders, that has to be considered a bonus at this point. Anything better than that would be gravy.

That depth chart isn't entirely accurate as Tartt/Ward aren't on IR and Ford/Blair haven't been declared out ROS... yet

Still gives you an unreal picture of just how hard the team has been clobbered by injuries.

We will be missing over half our starting defense

And to make matters worst the Pats struggled to score against the Broncos, I believe they will bounce back big against our depleted defense & Belichick likes to take away TE’s on defense so Deebo & Aiyuk will have to carry the load.

Agreed. If a GM calls Lynch just to laugh "you trying to trade Pettis?? Ha-ha-ha, good luck with that! I got an extra bag of popcorn for him; let me know if we have a deal. Ha-ha-ha!" Lynch then turns to his assistant and says "ok, chalk that one down to 'receiving a call' about Pettis".

The fact that this team has a winning record is incredible and solidifies my belief that we have the best coaching staff in the league.

Don't worry, they will just keep Pettis. Activate him for both games, play him for 25+ snaps and he'll never get targeted.

With Deebo hurt, I predict that the Seattle game will be Aiyuk's breakout game in which he will be featured heavily on screens, shovel passes, and jet sweeps. He doesn't have the power of Deebo but seems to be just as, if not more, shifty than Deebo making him very difficult to tackle in the open field. He and Kittle will have to break a few tackles to make some big chunk plays to give us a shot at outscoring the Seahawks offense.

Pettis can't even run jet sweeps?

WAsn't he a big time returner in college? So you'd think he could be effective with the ball.

Niners traded for Jordan Willis, DE for the Jets. Almost certainly doesn't move the needle at all. They traded a 2022 6th and get back a 2023 7th, I think.

I really liked Willis coming out, and wanted the Niners to take him instead of Witherspoon in the 3rd. I even checked in on his development with Cincy from time to time after the draft. But he's been a bust to date. Three career sacks. Freakish athlete (97.5% at the position behind only Myles Garrett that year: https://3sigmaathlete.com/archive/2017s/edge/; https://www.mockdraftable.com/player/jordan-willis) if undersized, and he performed well in college though he wasn't very refined. Not sure why he didn't pan out. If he's a warm body who can take the field, he's an upgrade over what they have right now.

I was wrong. It's a 2021 7th and Willis for a 2022 6th. That's effectively trading nothing - you'd arguably rather have the 2021 7th, except that this could be a bad year for late-round player evaluation.

At least we're home against the Packers. Then we've got to go play the Saints in NO. At least we'll have the mini bye to prep for that, though Kyle doesn't seem to excel coming off a bye.

There's a pretty good chance we go 0-3 over the next three. Wouldn't necessarily destroy our playoff hopes, but it would put a big dent in them.

I think we can beat the Rams out for the final 2 playoff spots judging by the schedules. Here’s my opinion on the Rams schedule...

@ Dolphins (L)
vs Seattle (W)
@ Buccaneers (L)
vs Us (L)
@ Arizona (L)
vs Patriots (W)
vs Jets (W)
@ Seattle (L)
vs Arizona (W)
