...The San Francisco 49ers Select, Merlin Robertson, Line Backer, Arizona State University!
I also like edge rusher Xavier Thomas from Clemson to be the true upgrade that we need to replace Dee Ford. The kid we got this offseason from the Seahawks is good, but not good enough.

Re: AND WITH THE 54th PICK OF THE 2022 NFL DRAFT...
I know its WAY too early, but as of now I'm thinking that the 9ers must draft a CB with their first pick in next year's draft.
Moseley/Lenoir/Thomas are the only CB's under contract.
Moseley is definitely not a feelgood #1 CB. Lenoir has started out great, but we are still quite a ways from being able to confidently rely on him. And Ambry Thomas currently looks hopeless.
Even with subtracting Garoppolo next season, the team won't be in a great cap position to go sign quality CB's. Warner's sizable extension kicks in, so a huge chunk of what they will save w/o Jimmy will get eaten up by Fred's new contract. They will also be looking to retain some of their own free agents like Tomlinson/Al-Shaair/Dwelley/Jordan Willis/(maybe) Mostert/(probably) Sherfield/etc
