Yes, but we don't have the cap space to sign Williams and Linsley both. Moot point, now.

I wouldn't read too much into that. The team has a major incentive to restructure Ford to free up cap space and potentially get out of his contract sooner. It doesn't mean he'll be on the field.

First agreement departure from the 49ers: WR Kendrick Bourne agrees to a deal with the Patriots.

Ok, Jeremy Fowler reported that the Patriots and Bourne are working toward an agreement, not official just yet.

Will be interesting if we bring in a FA WR or draft yet another to fill the void of Bourne.

Re: Ebukam, got to keep in mind that he plays for a division rival, so we've presumably scouted him a bunch. I'm hoping the defensive staff saw something more than what he's shown in LA, particularly as a pass rusher.

Ebukam fills a need, but I would of rather had Hyder at that price.

Yeah, I don't have much sense of Ebukam as a player, or particularly strong feelings about the move. Just noting that they should know what they're getting.

Yeah, its going to be interesting to see what Hyder gets. Hyder has long been under-rated. Unlike Armstead, Hyder consistently made his presence felt despite the lack of elite talent around him.

I'm not thrilled with the Ebukam signing either way, but it will be worse if Hyder signs for less elsewhere.

I'm fine with letting Bourne walk. He's a decent #3 and can play inside and out, but he's highly inconsistent and his self image/ego has always been much bigger than his production. Patriots need a helluva lot more than Bourne to fix their receiving corps.

That said, We gotta hope Hurd can finally get on the field and emerge as the #3. Maybe Jauan Jennings can provide some production. I have no faith in James, and have zero interest in bringing back Taylor. Cracraft is a nothing burger.

Read on Twitter

This bodes well for Rosen's chances of sticking around.

But they just need to cut the cord completely on Mullens.

Damn Patriots are making moves like crazy, well I’m one of the few that won’t be sad to see Bourne leave coz while he had a decent season last year he also tends to drop a lot of passes..

Sorry if I’m lost but who is Samson Ebukam? I know he came from the Rams but I really don’t pay attention to them at all.

Dang, Patriots give Kendrick Bourner 3 years/$22.5 mil.

I wouldn't have wanted him back for half that.

It’s official, Bourne is a Pat

Have fun New England with his dancing & dropped passes.

Ebukam started at OLB for the Rams but was a rotational type player. Former 4th round pick for them. He's an underwhelming pass rusher, despite benefiting from Aaron Donald eating up blocks and dominating offensive line attention. He isn't real strong in the run game either. However, he has yet to miss a game so far in his career. So that's something, especially for this team.

I hope the 2nd year of his contract is highly voidable.
