Re: 2017-18 CFB SEASON / '18 NFL DRAFT
Golladay is a more explosive and is a stronger player. Still, I see some similarities:
Jaleel Scott - WR - Aggies
NFL.com's Lance Zierlein compares New Mexico State WR Jaleel Scott to Lions WR Kenny Golladay.
Zierlein projects Scott (6'5, 215) to go anywhere from the fourth-to-fifth round and considers him an "ascending prospect." Going more in-depth, "Scott saw both his production and confidence explode in 2017 and consistently found ways to win once the ball was in the air. Scott doesn't have the quickness to win underneath, but he does use stride length and hand fighting to create space for himself as a downfield threat." Scott is likely to be viewed as a backup with upside that will have to fight his way into a WR3 role on an NFL roster.

Dude is as strong as an Ox:
Billy Price - C - Buckeyes
An AFC team pro personnel director said Ohio State C Billy Price " Has a lot of edge" and "might hit 40 on the bench."
The pro personnel director also mentioned he love's Price's (6'4/315) "toughness" and "grit" and expects him to have a great combine. NFL.com's Lance Zierlein compares Price to LeCharles Bentley and projects him to be selected in the second round. Zierlein is also excited about his athleticism saying, "Price's power and leverage give him a huge advantage over most centers in this draft." He believes Price is an "early starter with Pro Bowl potential."

Last year, I actually thought Michigan C Mason Cole was out-playing him, but everyone knew Price had the higher ceiling. Price really stepped his game up this year, and now he's probably close to a Nick Mangold kind of prospect (not quite that good but close IMO). He'll go to some pro bowls IMO, but I don't think he'll be a perennial all-pro'.
I'd take him over Rashaan Evans or Calvin Ridley, but not Derwin James.

Re: 2017-18 CFB SEASON / '18 NFL DRAFT
Jaylen Samuels WR / TE / RB from N. Carolina State could be an interesting prospect. 4th round, maybe?
Niners could use him at RB, FB or lining up wide in certain formations.
Also like Nyheim Hines from N. Carolina. Smaller RB who could be a nice pick up in the later rounds / maybe as an UDFA?

Haven't seen this posted yet? Might've missed it? At this point the amount of compensatory picks should never shock you unless you've done no reading. So no real shock here but........

Re: 2017-18 CFB SEASON / '18 NFL DRAFT
This guy gets it. He totally got it right:
Derwin James - DB - Seminoles
Kyle Posey of FanRag Sports ranks Florida State S Derwin James as the top prospect worth trading up for.
James has received lots of mock draft love in the 17-25 range, which Posey mentions. The difference is, Posey feels there's not reason for the safety to "fall" that far, believing he shouldn't leave the top 10. "Don’t listen to anyone who says he can’t cover," he writes. "They haven’t watched him. James is a star. James moves like a corner. He can stay with small shifty slot receivers or big tight ends. As a tackler, he does a great job of squaring up and wrapping ballcarriers to the ground." It seems like James is currently being viewed as a high-floor player, with some questions about his upside. If Posey is correct -- and there's a good chance -- those concerns will become invalid.

Malik Jefferson - LB - Longhorns
NFL.com draft analyst Chad Reuter lists Texas LB Malik Jefferson as one of the "boom-or-bust" prospects in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Jefferson oozes athletic talent, and should be a standout at this week's Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. He's also shown flashes of dominance in his time with the Longhorns, but analysts have repeatedly said they would like to see it on a more consistent basis. ". NFL scouts aren't so sure Jefferson is going to be a difference-maker at the next level," writes Reuter. "They question his instincts and playmaking ability. Jefferson has the physical tools to be an outstanding inside 'backer in a 3-4 scheme or Sam in a 4-3, making a squad's run defense stronger and providing some pass rush when called upon." Right now, Jefferson projects as a late-first, early-second round selection.

Josh Allen - QB - Cowboys
AN NFL scout compared Wyoming QB Josh Allen to Phillip Rivers in Bleacher Report writer Matt Miller's scouting notebook.
This is an interesting comp, one that certainly makes sense physically. Allen has become an especially polarizing quarterback on social media. Let's just say that this particular scout may not care about what Twitter and Facebook have to say. "Why does the league like him more than Twitter? Because we know what we're doing," he tells Miller. "Allen had nothing around him and people expect him to complete passes? To who?" Well then. Allen still remains a volatile prospect and likely will until April.

Marquis Haynes - DL - Rebels
Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline believes that teams are "sleeping on" Ole Miss edge-rusher Marquis Haynes.
Haynes was one of the most productive pass-rushers in the SEC over the last four years, accumulating 32 sacks in his four years with the Rebels. Despite this, the 6-foot-foot-3, 230-pound edge-rusher has seen mostly late-round grades from analysts, and Pauline said that teams have similar opinions. He feels that a mistake. "In my opinion, people are sleeping on Haynes," Pauline writes. "While he wasn’t consistent in college, he displayed flashes of big-time ability and really stepped it up during the Senior Bowl. A good coach will turn Haynes into a productive next-level starter." There's still time left for Haynes to change teams minds, and if he performs well at the combine and his pro day, that along with his productivity in college should help his stock rise.

Lamar Jackson - QB - Cardinals
NFL Draft Scout's Rob Rang listed Louisville QB Lamar Jackson as the "must-watch" quarterback during the NFL Scouting Combine.
This may be obvious, because it is; but Rang isn't wrong, and we're awfully excited to see what he can do. Not only is he one of the fastest quarterbacks we've seen -- and we've seen some awfully fast ones -- he also should be able to show off his arm strength in Indianapolis. "Scouts are always eager to see exceptional athletes like Jackson compete but more than important than his velocity or 40-yard dash time will be his footwork on five- and seven-step drops, as well as the football IQ he demonstrates during private meetings with teams," Rang writes. Get excited, folks.

Re: 2017-18 CFB SEASON / '18 NFL DRAFT
Vita Vea - DL - Huskies
Luke Easterling of Draft Wire believes that the top defensive tackle in the class is a "two-horse race" between Washington's Vita Vea and Michigan's Maurice Hurst.
In a poll asking which prospect readers would rather have, Easterling acknowledges that they may be the two top prospects at the position, but they're very different players. He calls Vea a "massive force at 6-foot-5, 340-pounds" and " He routinely beats double-teams with his combination of power and quickness, and has the ability to play in any scheme at the next level." As for Hurst, Easterling calls him a "somewhat undersized but disruptive defender who uses his explosive first step and violent hands to beat opposing blockers on a regular basis." They both have a chance to be very effective players, but it seems like Hurst offers the higher floor, with Vea providing the higher ceiling.
