Josh Reynolds - WR - Aggies
Matt Waldman of the RSP believes Texas A&M WR Josh Reynolds deserves more attention.
Our own Josh Norris has been pushing the same, ranking Reynolds as a top 10 receiver in the class. Reynolds lived on the right side of the formation but dominated on vertical routes with his release, separation skills, sideline awareness and contested catch game. His game is quite linear right now, but he was able to show more at the Senior Bowl.

The guy doesn't get 44" off the ground. I don't care what markers he got, he's not 44" (3'8") off the ground. He's 5'9" so 44" would be very close to 2 feet below the top of his head. Wherever you guesstimate that is, it's definitely not 44 inches in the air.

The starting point is your standing vertical reach with one arm. From there to where you can touch at the height of your jump is the vert. Pause the video and look at it frame by frame. The floor isn't what you look at. See where his hands are reaching before he jumps. Look at where his finger tips are in relation to the vertical bar. Then look at where he touches at the top of his jump. That looks like a distance of 44" to me.
How much you straighten or bend your legs or extend your feet is gonna make the relation to the floor all over the map. That is why it is measured this way.

Clemson is known to have a fast track though:

DeAndre Hopkins ran a 4.57 with a 1.65 split at Clemson's pro day.

I get how it's measured. I'm saying he cheated it somehow. He only had a 9'6" broad jump. My guess is he slumped his arm deep into his shoulder socket before the actual jump causing them place the markers lower than they should have been.

I think Jerry Rice clocked even worse.
Then he lit up some Falcons CB for 3 or 4 TDs in one game and that guy supposedly clocked 4.3.

Re: 2016-17 CFB SEASON / '17 NFL DRAFT
If we were still operating in a 3-4 D, this kid would have been on my short list of players I would most want with our second round pick:
T.J. Watt - LB - Badgers
Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline hears that the Steelers may not want to spend a first-round pick on Wisconsin edge rusher T.J. Watt.
The Steelers are keen on Watt -- they sat down with him on pro day earlier this week -- but a first-round selection might just be too rich for their blood. As for his work on pro day itself, the 6-foot-4, 252-pounder "displayed a smooth, fluid backpedal and easy hip turn and looked natural moving in reverse when simulating pass coverage." One scout who spoke with Packers beat writer Bob McGinn has called Watt "more explosive" than Clay Matthews. He is in the Day 1 conversation.

If you're one of those people just starting to get into the pre-draft process, I have heard of MAYBE 5 instances of a QB being singled out for not having good completion percentage at a pro day. That means next to nothing to me.

Ha! He's still around and working on athletes. He's certainly not the only one who operates on athletes, though. Never was.

Mitchell Trubisky - QB - Tar Heels
Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline writes that North Carolina QB Mitchell Trubisky "struggled with his accuracy" during Tuesday's pro day throwing drills.
Trubisky did show off the requisite arm strength on Tuesday, but where that arm strength led the ball is another matter completely. Notes Pauline, "Receivers were adjusting to errant throws or leaving their feet to grab passes high of the mark. On occasion the ball left his hand funny and Trubisky was way off the target." In assessing the pro day work of both Clemson QB Deshaun Watson (last week) and Trubisky, Pauline believes Watson was the more consistent thrower. We would not be surprised to see Watson drafted before Trubisky on Day 1, though this quarterback class remains relatively fluid.

Jourdan Lewis - DB - Wolverines
According to the police report relating to Michigan CB Jourdan Lewis' misdemeanor domestic assault charge, the corner grabbed his girlfriend by the hair and put his hand around her throat.
Per the police report, the argument that precipitated last Wednesday's charge against Lewis was over bills that he shared with his live-in girlfriend. That argument became physical, with Lewis allegedly grabbing her neck and holding her down for "about three seconds." The report goes on to note that "[w]hen asked if Lewis had grabbed (the woman’s) throat he stated that he may have grabbed it while trying to get her off him but had no intentions to hurt (her). Lewis stated at no time was he trying to assault (her), he was trying to leave." It should be noted that authorities did not note any visible marks on Lewis' girlfriend's neck when they arrived on scene. The corner has plead not guilty to the charge being levied against him and is next scheduled to appear in court on April 12. Whether this charge is enough to push him to Day 3 remains to be seen.
