I think we are either drafting Davenport/Landry or trading down.

Based on recent developments, Davenport is definitely one of the top guys on their short list at #9:

1.) Chubb
2.) Barkley
3.) Nelson
4.) Fitzpatrick
5.) Davenport
6.) Edmunds
7.) James
8.) Ward
9.) Vea
10.) R. Smith
11.) Landry

Baker Mayfield - QB - Sooners

NFL.com senior analyst Gil Brandt wrote that Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield made money on Wednesday's pro day.

Brandt passes along that Mayfield showed off sharp velocity and movement on his way to completing 62-of-70 passes from his pro day throwing script. Regarding those incomplete passes, the analyst tallied seven uncatachable balls from Mayfield, with one drop. The Denver Broncos -- who hold the No. 5 pick -- brought a front office army to Norman to watch Mayfield, with GM John Elway among the team's contingent on hand for the quarterback. We're not locking him in as a guaranteed top-10 selection, but such a draft slot will very much be in play with Mayfield.

Orlando Brown - T - Sooners

Oklahoma T Orlando Brown recorded noticeably stronger marks in several athletic tests on pro day than he did at the NFL Scouting Combine.

It's of no particular surprise that Brown improved on pro day -- that's often the case -- but if ever there was a player who needed such a boost, it would be the 6-foot-7, 345-pounder. He bumped his 40-yard dash time from a sludge-like 5.85 seconds to 5.65 seconds and additionally improved on his jumps (vertical from 19.5 inches to 25.5 inches; broad from 82 inches to 89 inches) and bench press (14 reps to 18 reps). We wouldn't go so far as to say that these improvements salvaged his disappointing combine showing -- remarkably, he posted a composite athletic testing score in the zeroth percentile of NFL offensive linemen while in Indy -- but at the very least, he's probably plugged a few of the leaks in what was a sinking draft stock. Said draft stock is somewhat difficult to gauge at this juncture, though we think he remains a solid bet to be drafted on Day 2 this spring.

I don't like the idea of drafting a project at 9. Especially when the team is close to ready to compete for a SB.

I'd be more comfortable with Landry than Davenport. Much more.

Niners need to trade up for Nelson or trade down for extra pick(s) in 2019 IMO.

Trading up for Nelson would be an ugly move on our part IMO. Either we stay put and draft him at 9, or trade back and draft Hernandez in the late first. If Nelson is gone, I wouldn’t be quick to press the panic alarm.

I would've agreed with you until the team signed Richburg. Now, there really aren't that many holes left on the starting roster. For a 3rd-rounder, the Niners could move up a few spots & get the most dominant guard since Steve Hutchinson (better than Steve) and give Jimmy the best OL in the NFL. Niners got to the SB and almost won it with the best OL in the league, best defense and poop at QB. Imagine what an actual GOOD QB could do w/ that OL! The running game would be a pain in opponents' a**ses.

This isn't a deep draft, anyway. Niners don't need a bunch of bubble guys who probably won't play much at all. The Browns need those guys, not the Niners.

I would have to imagine Pass rush is the best bet...

WR would be a surprise

CB, though good for LT, would be an iffy decision(not that the prospect selected isn't good)

Tyler Rogers NMSU QB has a scheduled private workout with the Arizona Cardinals. If drafted by AZ, Goff would be the worst QB in the division by 2020

I’m gonna break a couple ribs with laughter if the Jets take Allen.

Jets taking SQBK. Lost Jerick McKinnon in a way too steep bidding war to the niners means they have getting a RB as one of the higher priorities of their team. McCown and Bridgewater are great game managers, so I'm sure everyone in the Jets org is content with letting these QBs prove what they got this season.

This would be even worse to trade all that to move up for a RB?

A lot to move up only 3 spots. What is that, two second rounders this year and a second rounder next year?

You think they traded up for random 3rd QB still left on the board? I mean it's a possibility, but it's either Bo Jackson or random 3rd Qb
