Denzel Ward - DB - Buckeyes

Ohio State CB Denzel Ward (illness) opted not to weigh-in during Thursday's pro day.

Ward checked in at 5-foot-10, 183 pounds, at the NFL Scouting Combine earlier this month. While he did measure up for pro day -- actually slightly taller than in Indianapolis -- he decided not to weigh in, as he said that he didn't want to offer a "false weight." The Ohio State corner said that he came down ill with a stomach issue the night before his pro day and that he had been vomiting, which he feared would impact his number if he weighed in. Fair enough concern, as Ward was already considered to be undersized even before he had to tango with the stomach bug. Despite the size concerns, he'll very much be in play for a top-10 selection come April's drama.

If Rosen & Mayfield are gone, then yes. He's the next-best player in the draft. Better than taking a bust like Allen.

Marcus Davenport: if he works out, he'll be JPP (except w/ 10 fingers). If he doesn't, he'll be a smaller Arik Armstead. Not worth the risk IMO.

New York gave up three second round picks and the No. 6 overall pick, and you think a guard is worth all of that?

The trade has already happened. You can't un-bake that cake. I think either Mayfield or Rosen will be on the board when they pick. But what I'm saying is that Nelson is the best player in the draft who's not a QB. If the only 2 franchise QBs ( think neither Darnold nor Allen will be) are both gone (which is unlikely), the smart play would be to pick Nelson.

HOF-caliber guard >>>>>> "Meh" QB like Darnold.

There's a TON of dedicated people out there looking for a job like that one but that's a big loss for those people. The work that goes into making that week what it is every year is incredible.

Isaiah Wynn - G - Bulldogs

Rotoworld's Josh Norris ranks Georgia OL Isaiah Wynn as the No. 9 overall player in the 2018 NFL Draft class.

Wynn is Norris' No. 2 offensive linemen, behind only Notre Dame G Quenton Nelson. Interestingly, Norris believes that Wynn (6'2/313) could stick at tackle in the NFL despite his lack of length. "Really is an ideal offensive lineman: Athletic, strong, footwork and an ability to recover and still win," Norris wrote. To us, Wynn is a sure-fire first-round talent. Not everybody shares that opinion. Wynn is expected to go in the late first or early second-round round of next month's draft.

Roquan Smith - LB - Bulldogs

Rotoworld's Josh Norris ranks Georgia LB Roquan Smith as the No. 4 overall player in the 2018 NFL Draft class.

Smith checks in as Norris' No. 1 linebacker. "Sideline to sideline linebacker who is outstanding at getting ahead of blocks and picking lanes to attack and disrupt," Norris wrote. "Wants to meet ball carriers at or behind the line of scrimmage. He reacts immediately and even is predictive in his movements." Many see Tremaine Edmunds as the class' No. 1 linebacker, but both Norris and colleague Thor Nystrom slightly prefer Smith, who while smaller is more active and instinctive. The Bears, Raiders and 49ers are teams in the top-10 with a linebacker need who could look his way.

I used to be an intern in the sports media, and they all say "stomach bug" or "flu-like symptoms" is code for "hung over" and / or "coming down" like 90% of the time.

Chris Worley - LB - Buckeyes

Ohio State LB Chris Worley is scheduled to visit the Texans, Titans, Steelers and Bengals.

The linebacker class is deep, and Worley presents an athletic linebacker prospect likely in the fourth- or fifth-round. Each of these teams has a clear need at the position.

Sam Darnold - QB - Trojans

Giants beat writer Jordan Raanan believes the team is only interested in USC's Sam Darnold among the QBs at the top of the draft.

Raanan makes the statement with the caveat of "unless Gettleman disregards his scouts (which I guess is possible)." If we are reading this correctly, the Giants scouts are not as into the other quarterbacks as they are Sam Darnold. A few points... It's unlikely all of the scouts the Giants currently employ are close to Gettleman. They might not be his guys. And second, the only grade that matters is the one Gettleman ultimately places on the prospects. As of now the No. 2 pick seems very uncertain.

Sam Darnold - QB - Trojans

Dan Patrick cites a scouting source saying the Browns are trying to bait the Giants into trading up to pick No. 1 by feigning love for USC QB Sam Darnold.

The trade would be similar to that of Mitchell Trubisky and the Bars last year. Patrick believes the Browns prefer Wyoming's Josh Allen. It has been suggested that the Giants only like Darnold among the top quarterbacks. It was also widely stated, by Joel Klatt, Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks, that Darnold locked up the No. 1 spot following his pro day workout. Again, we have no idea what will happen, but this is something to keep in mind for the next month.

Josh Sweat - DL - Seminoles

NFL Media's Lance Zierlein compared Florida State edge-rusher Josh Sweat to Seattle Seahawk edge-rusher Barkevious Mingo.

Sweat oozes athleticism, and reportedly impressed at both his pro day and the NFL Scouting Combine. Despite that success, the 6-foot-4, 251-pound defender could face a bit of an uphill battle as we get closer to draft day because of concerns about effort on the field along with consistency. "Sweat has the length, frame and athletic qualities to fit right in as a 3-4 SAM or rush linebacker, but he needs to go to school with a position coach or a talented veteran to help unlock his pass rush potential," Zierlein writes. Expect him to go at some point on Day 2, but there's at least a chance he could go in the first 32 picks if someone is enamored with his size/speed combo.

Christian Kirk - WR - Aggies

Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports reports that Johnny Manziel will throw to Texas A&M WR Christian Kirk at his pro day on Tuesday.

All 32 NFL teams will be at the workout, according to Feldman. Kirk is considered one of -- and by some, the -- best wide receivers in this class, so this would be highly attended no matter who the quarterback throwing the football was. Add in the fact that Johnny Football will be slinging the rock, and, well, you get the idea. If Kirk tests well in College Station, he has a chance to solidify his late first-round, early-second round stock.

Anthony Miller - WR - Tigers

NFL.com Associate Fantasy Writer and Editor Matt Harmon compares Memphis WR Anthony Miller to Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin.

Baldwin went undrafted because of concerns about his size and speed, and now is among the best receivers in the NFC. Miller doesn't have speed concerns, per se, but there are some who wonder if the wideout can handle the rigors of the NFL because of his build (5'11/190). "I charted his game film, and Miller does give off the vibe of another slight but hyper-competitive wideout in Baldwin," Harmon writes. "Miller split time between playing the slot and working outside for Memphis. Much like Baldwin, Miller is far more proficient than your typical slot receiver at running deep routes and winning 50-50 balls."

Roquan Smith - LB - Bulldogs

Pro Football Focus's Sam Monson writes that Georgia LB Roquan Smith is "perfect" for today's NFL.

Well that's lofty praise, isn't it? Pro Football Focus has been a huge fan of Smith's production, and the fact that Smith can excel in both run and pass coverage surely has something to do with it. "If they’re lucky, both [Tremaine] Edmunds and [Leighton] Vander Esch each have the potential to become as good as Smith, but if I was drafting I’d take the guy who already is Roquan Smith, and may quickly become one of the game’s best coverage linebackers and a true mismatch weapon on defense.

Courtland Sutton - WR - Mustangs

NFL Media's Lance Zierlein compares SMU WR Courtland Sutton to former Panthers and Bears WR Muhsin Muhammad.

For those of you too young to remember Muhammad, he was one of the better possession wide receivers in the earlier part of the century. Zierlein has concerns about "play speed" and inconsistent ball skills, but notes that he his frame (6'3/218) and body positioning will make corners work. Sutton remains one of the most divisive prospects in the class at the wideout position, but he should be off the board late in the first round or early on Day 2.

Josh Rosen - QB - Bruins

Appearing on the Cover 2 Podcast, ESPN's Chris Mortensen predicted UCLA's Josh Rosen will be the fourth QB selected in April's NFL Draft.

Here's the order of Mortensen's prediction: USC's Sam Darnold, Wyoming's Josh Allen, Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield, then Rosen fourth. We believe an argument can be made for any of the five quarterbacks, as each presents a different skill set and projection. Rosen, however, appears to have the cleanest on-field evaluation as he is a prototypical pocket passer with plenty of the out there.

Will Hernandez - G - Miners

The Giants will host UTEP G Will Hernandez on a visit, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Hernandez might be the premier hog molly in this class. The Giants have a clear need at guard, and Hernandez is a bully in that area, wanting to move defenders out of the way to create space in the running game. An early second-round selection is possible for Hernandez, as is a first-round pick.
